Description: Melco T-5000 Hot Melt Seam Sealing Tape - Nylon Jersey backer. Available in Black (20mm & 25mm)or Navy Blue(22mm). T-5000 hot melt Seam Tape is suitable for a wide range of applications but is most commonly used on jersey laminated sponge neoprene fabrics - scuba, wetsuits, dry suits, waders, fishing, canoe / kayak / paddle waterproofs etc. It has excellent durability and resistance to salt water hydrolysis and provides an attractive and long lasting finish. Not only does it add strength to the seam or repair it also remains soft and flexible after application, with its unique stretch quality. T-5000 is the brand leading Seam Sealing Tape used by major manufacturers of neoprene Wetsuits & Drysuits throughout the world and we have been successfully supplying our products to these markets since 1985. Further technical information on our range of Seam Sealing Tape is available on our website at http://www.wbm-uk.com/tapes.htm. Application Instructions: For small scale production, repairs and patching the Tape can be applied using a Heat Press or Household Iron. In this case the temperature needs to be on a medium / medium hot setting - the dwell time is the important factor and this can only be determined by experimentation - suggest in the region of 5 - 10 seconds with pressure applied. Ideally apply the T-5000 Tape to a small piece of waste fabric first, to test adhesion strength - after test application and allowing time for cooling pull the tape back and you should feel a strong resistance. For a good seal to be achieved the temperature must be high enough for the adhesive to be flowing / molten and pressure must be applied across the full width of the tape.

Fixed my spray deck. Perfectly.. you have to present the taped seam effectively to the iron. Use a cloth to protect the iron.. recommend yes.

Simple and easy to use. Have yet to see how well it lasts but seems to be as good as the original seam tape on my wetsuit.Remove and clean old tape, make sure the wetsuit is dry then apply with a household iron on medium heat, no steam. Takes a little practice to get the hang of pressure and time to ensure a good seal but after a few minutes I was well away.

For someone who is on tight budget and worried about the cost of a professional to replace the seams on a drysuit, I bought the roll of iron on seamtape.I very pleased with the overall outcome, not bad for an amateur.
