The cups come stacked and patience is required to separate. Run them under some water and theyll come apart. I didn't break any separating them, but one broke during the freezing process.It's easy to assemble and is a great tool. I worry about finding replacement cups, as I can see more of them breaking in the future.The process is easy, but it made a bit of a mess I didn't anticipate. Not a huge deal, but the shavings kind of go out of bounds, so a small cup is not a good idea. Better to shave a whole cup into a large bowl and scoop to serve.Over all, I love it. It would be 5 stars if not for the cups (sticking together and breaking easily)

The actual ice shaver is awesome, however the cups that come with it to freeze ice are initially stuck together and very hard to get apart- which I read in previous reviews so that was expected. I was disappointed though when I went in the freezer to get them out to realize 6 out of 8 busted and the plastic cracked so I can’t use them again. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Again, the shaver itself it wonderful!

The cups that came with the unit, are too fragile. Some broke when trying to separate them from the packaging. The cups should be separated in the factory by using paper between each cup.

The children in the neighbourhood love the snow cones. Oh my Lord ,and we are having such an hot summer. So the snowcone machine is perfect. Just perfect.

Make sure the ice rests for 10min, it will fall out. I made slush puppies and margaritas. Read the directions!
