So I did tons of research before giving this mount a try and boy was it worth it. The biggest selling point was the ability to not only face the pool, but rotate 180 degrees to be viewed from other areas of the patio. I read a lot of reviews, so I figured I'd pay it back. This mount was used on an enclosed overhang on the patio with a 65" Roku tv (35 lbs). I'd rather pay $399 for a new tv every few years than pay for an "outdoor tv". Yes, this mount is made for 16" spacing in your joists. Not ideal since most are 24" apart, but not something you can't overcome. I used decking screws to secure a 36" x 16" piece of teakwood from Lowes to the joists and placed the mount on that. It's a bit expensive and I could have just used 2x4's, but my wife was not having it! The only thing that could have been better is adding an outlet to the mount for the tv to cut down on the wires being everywhere. It might have cleaned the wires up a bit, but I understand some slack is required for the mount to rotate. We had an electrician come and install an outlet near where I put the mount up and it's at least better than running a cord up there. Bottom line, we are very pleased with this mount. It does open and close slowly, but it's not a big deal. It is extremely sturdy and gives us more options than the one that just flips down. If you're thinking about it, go for it!

We purchased the VIVO Electric Flip Down Swiveling Ceiling TV Mount for our enclosed lanai, which has two glass walls and two stucco walls. Since our sofa faces the length of the room toward the glass, we had no choice but to mount the TV from the ceiling. The mount works great and performs exactly as advertised—it securely holds our 60" TV and operates smoothly. The only drawback is that it doesn’t swivel a full 360 degrees, which we would have preferred for greater flexibility.

Thus hangs outside for our tv. Does exactly what we needed with an up,down and swivel systems.

When I first bought this, my plan was to put it in the center of my newly renovated bedroom (2 into 1), so I could watch from my bed and on the opposite side, my sitting area. I then became concerned that I might walk into it if it wasn’t in the up position, so I had it placed near a wall. (My ceilings are 8 feet high). After realizing that my 5’1” self could easily walk under it (with about 6” to spare), it will now be moved to the center where I originally wanted it. My only concern in where I’m going to put the cable box and/or antenna. The 180° turn is perfect. It’s heavy, so make sure you have it secured and get another set of hands to help. I definitely recommend spending the extra money for the electric 180° one.

Works good. Really slow coming down though. Way better than having it on a shelf taking up space

I wanted to add a large TV Mount to a roof overhang on my rear deck. After looking at all my options this one looked the best. Once installed it was found to be defective. I called Vivo technical support and they walked me through testing. It was verified as defective (they were great) They expedited a replacement that was received two days later. It was installed the next day, it worked perfectly. I would absolutely purchase from these folks again even with the problems I had

Pretty dang cool. Lowering takes about 60 seconds but that's ok.

This is a great device! I am so glad I put my TV on the ceiling ! It saves a ton of space and makes it much better to watch it while relaxing in bed. The best part: TV will not get dusty as much... no finger prints... it will stay nicer for longer up there. Just MAKE SURE YOU screw the oarts into the wooden joists of your ceiling and that it is bolted nice and strong. It truly takes two people to handle the installation job. I am VERY PLEASED with this ! I highly recommend it!

Product is as advertised. Good quality and good installation instructions. One thing is it isn’t the quickest to put TV down. Would recommend product.

This thing is probably the coolest thing I own. Blows the minds of my guests, and I’m able to twirl the tv around while I’m at work to mess with my wife 👍

The product is designed for 16" centred trusses. We have 600mm (near 24") so special support system had to be made. After that the installation was well described but not all that easy for a 78 year old. With help to install the TV,it was successful
