## Description

Washer for road bike or mountain bike seat posts

Review: Once installed, you will forget it’s even there! - This Cane Creek shim is a quality piece that fit perfectly snug as advertised on both outside 31.8mm diameter to fit inside of the seat tube & also the inside to accommodate a smaller 27.2mm diameter (road) carbon post that I installed in place of the (MTB off road ) sized alloy post it replaced without any negative issues or damage whatsoever! The Easton carbon post I installed along with a carbon railed Fizik Antares seat transformed a harsh riding MTB geometry based commuter bicycle into a significantly lighter post & seat combo in addition too a much smoother & more comfortable riding bicycle that I use on the road, had considered installing a brand named Suspension seat post but the cost, weight penalties, inconvenience & fickled nature was an issue for me the bicycle itself was already heavy in comparison? I couldn’t be happier with the results, it exceeded my expectations & highly recommend this Cane Creek shim if you’re planning a change of seat posts size. PS: if your bicycle has a slotted seat post frame DO NOT align it with the slot on the Cane Creek shim, I positioned mine opposite 90 degrees ( imperative!) to prevent a pressure crack when installing a carbon post or even marring an alloy post once torqued no more than recommended standards, go a Nm or even two less if your light, if you hear or feel any movement you can always tighten that Nm up if needed, if you need more than recommended values chances are that there’s another issue use caution & a good accurate torque wrench when dealing with Carbon?
Review: Excellent Quality - Perform as Required - For all the seat post sizes out there, shims can become very essential for riders that manage a number of cycles. Going to an e-bike, I used this to move a favorite seatpost / saddle to an e-bike of a larger frame size. This fit precisely, is well machined, light enough, and allowed me to use a much more comfortable seatpost.and saddle. Given that most posts synch at the top end of the seat tube, this provides good grip and has a well engineered lip to prevent it from slipping inside a normal undamaged tube.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great quality and functional SeatPost shim
*by R***N on August 23, 2025*

This is 100% aluminum unlike other cheaper options that claim aluminum but turn out to be plastic. Also, having a shim that’s 100mm vs shorter I feel is a better option.
