BRUT EDT 100 ml

Love the smell of Brut real old school and with the EDT it lasts a good while.

Lovely aftershave my husband favourite a blast from the past.

Although you have a smell of brut it is nowhere near as strong as it was in the 70s even when you spray on heavily.bit dissapointed with it

First off, this is not Brut from Faberge. The reason for this is that Faberge no longer make it, UNILEVER do. I was born in 1969 and remember the very fresh, crisp and immediately recognisable aroma of Brut from the 70s' because every teenager was wearing it, which I found out when visiting friends that had older brothers or when walking through groups of teens congregated outside shops. There was only one other instantly recognisable fragrance from that era and that was Old Spice. Fragrance ----------- Whilst there is a clearly recognisable aroma of Brut, there is also a very distinguishable 'peppery' aroma which knocks off all the 'corners' of the expected one. Gone is that crisp and immediate fragrance. Instead, we get a softer and less attention demanding wiff from the past. Duration ---------- Ha ha, well! The smell does last longer than the flavour of your favourite Wriggles gum but it really does not take too long before it converts to a skin scent, detectable only when very close up to the wife. I bought the EDT specifically because I'd read that that there was so little staying power in the aftershave. Sadly, the same is for the EDT too. Packaging ------------ The EDT comes in a very similar green long necked glass bottle to the original aftershave, complete with the medallion. The only difference is that the bottle has an atomiser and not a simple hole with which to 'splash it all over'. The bottle is packed into a very sturdy transparent plastic box so should not be damaged on arrival. All in all, a very good presentation meeting immediate gift giving standards. Alternatives? --------------- I mentioned 'Old Spice' at the beginning, which is not in any way a direct comparison to the smell of 'Brut', as it has a totally different fragrance. But, if you want a fresh, crisp, 70s' classic, daily splash-on that has not changed one bit, you cannot go wrong with 'Old Spice - Original', in my opinion. Low price and high quality product and packaging are all still there. Conclusion ------------- Brut EDT is a nice and welcome walk down memory lane to re-visit an absolutely fantastic smell which has unlocked so many memories, leading to too many "Remember when" conversations recently. However, as it is not a patch on the original from Faberge, and so not what I wanted, I won't be buying it again.
