We have a RuffWeather XL doggy door. According to the brand themselves, you need a 9.75 inch x 17.5 inch flap. That is simply not true. I know because I bought that exact measurement and they were too short. You need a 9.75 inch x 18 inch flap, which this IS. I am not joking when I say I have tried 4 different brands and types to get a good fit for our doggy door, resorting to manually shaving the sides of the last pair of flaps to make them a better fit because I was so sick and tired of ordering and returning those that didn't fit.....but now I have found these, I am saving them in my list in case I need them again. These.....fit....PERFECTLY! And I mean absolutely perfectly. So if you have a RuffWeather XL doggy door and you're looking for replacement flaps, congratulations.....you've found them! Also, these are opaque and not clear. It's of no importance, but you might want to know that.

It actually IS the best pet flap replacement. I compared it with another after-market flap, and this one was more true to size for my dog door (both long enough to not let in wind, and wide enough to catch on the fuzzy weatherstripping on the sides). Plus, the screw holes were carefully placed, unlike the other brand, so it was much easier to install. The metal plate at the bottom catches the magnet, and I like that it is opaque. It's a good weight and flexibility, similar to the original flap, and my dog went through it no problem (although I'm sure he wondered where all the dirty smears from his old one went...). I hope that it lasts as long as my last one did (17 years with numerous big dogs!).

These XL flaps fit well for my RuffWeather XL dog door. They have maybe 1/8 inch gap at the bottom, but so have all the previous flaps. The magnetic strength isn't super strong but enough to hold the flaps in place. These are a little thicker than previous flaps. I did not realize these are frosted rather than clear. Not a problem, just different than what we have been using. Price was fair and much better than on official website. Shipping was delayed by three days by carrier for unknown reason but was not a problem as it wasn't an immediate need. Hopefully the thicker flaps will hold up better. As for weatherproofing, time will tell. We get some strong winds that blow in the flaps, I expect the same will occur with these too since the magnetic strength on my door vs the gap is not super strong. Previous flaps have stretched and the strength of magnet hold improved, maybe that will occur again. Overall, price vs expectations are met. I will buy again from this seller.

For the most part it’s a great direct replacement. Same soft floppy material. Same ridges on the edges. All the holes lined up perfectly with the frame flap holes. My only gripe is the width is a bit too narrow. The left side is just missing the frame and you can barely see the light through the crack, that great from an air seal perspective. The right side has a 1/4” gap from the frame. Not great from an air seal perspective. I could have split the difference a bit before tightening the flap clamp bar on the frame but the gap on either side is still wide enough to let air draw noticeably. I already have it and it’s in so I’m keeping it but I’ll need to cut a piece of wood to fill the gap and tape it to the frame with weatherproof tape to help seal it better. Perhaps it was intended to have nearly 3/16ths gaps on either side to allow it to flap without catching but my winters can get single digit and the gaps can matter.

I really liked these replacement flaps because they were easy to install and worked with the door that we have but the outdoor flap tore off the base today. We have had these installed on the doggy door for about a year (11 months), so I am disappointed in the durability. There's not a lot of reinforcement at the top or on the sides so it literally tore off.
