Teasire Body Cure – Slender Beauty! and Vitalize! - Natural Blends of Organic Herbal Tea - Organic & Vegan, 2x50g

This product was sent to me for test and evaluation. If, like me, you loved David Suchet's brilliant portrayal of Belgian detective Hercule Poirot in the 90's, you will remember that one of his sacrosanct daily habits was to drink a cup of hot tisane every afternoon. I have adopted this practice to boost my water intake (which I neglected for years), and now drink up to 8 cups a day with a touch of honey. So I'm always happy to find a new brand to add variety to my cuppas.These herbal mixtures are as natural as can be, actually bits of stems and chunks of flowers and spices, simply packaged in clear plastic, inside a pretty cardboard tube. When I opened the first one I thought there wasn't much there, but then I did some weighing. There are 50 grams in each package and a flat teaspoonful is all you need for a cup, I made it 2.5 grams. So, according to my usage, you can make 20 cups of fairly strong tisane with the contents of a package; and they are sold in sets of two, so 40 cups. For the quality, purity and taste, I think that's very reasonable.I'm using the Body Cure combo (Slim Me and Detox Me); there is also one called Soul Cure (Boost Me and Balance Me). I normally shy away from detox preparations, but I read the ingredients and liked what was included: lemongrass, nettle leaf, ginger, licorice, fennel, anise. The taste is very fresh and herbal, and I love anything with ginger and anise, so I find this one great.The Slim Me mix is: green tea (gunpowder), lemongrass, mate and peppermint. With two caffeine-rich ingredients (green tea and mate), this one gives me an invigorating boost but has a slightly bitter taste that requires more honey. I drink this in the morning and switch to the detox mix later in the day.Both varieties taste very fresh, and have a much more lively flavour than some tisanes in bags, where the contents are almost like powder and definitely not so intriguing.

This duo of tea blends come in very fancy, somewhat feminine packaging.A bit over-packaged if you ask me but at least it's recyclable.Bad NewsThe 'balance me' blend includes lavender and licourice. This makes for a truly disgusting brew.I thought I'd check with some colleagues and the verdict was unanimous: 'vile', 'gross' etc.Good NewsThe 'boost me' is a nice darker tea and I'd expect anyone who enjoys rooiboosh (redbush) or lapsang souchong to like it.But not if they're sensitive to caffeine. Although a dark tea, to make it strong enough to have with milk would make it pretty potent.This one is a blend of assam and mate with some other bits thrown in. I already drink mate (Lion brand) and din't find it all that stimulating. This 'boost me' stuff did, however, blow my head off! Sure, I used too much tea (it does swell-up) but it certainly gives you a boost / opens up your pores.I now use less and keep topping-up with hot water. It tastes fine to me and is (thankfully) less exotic tasting than the 'balance me'.It also includes coffee cherries, whatever they are, and fenugreek. I can't really detect the fenugreek until the end of the day when, after many top-ups the main flavour is exhausted and a slight taste like cupa-soup comes through.I like the 'boost me' very much and, unlike so many foods which promise an effect but deliver none, it certainly does give you a boost. ..And I'm a frequent coffee drinker.5 stars for the tasty Boost, zero stars for the repellant Balance = 3 stars overall.

** Please note: I was kindly sent a sample of this product to test and to give my honest opinion in the form of a review **Over the years I have heard a lot about herbal detox teas, some things good (more energy, better weight loss, clearer skin, all round better health) and some things bad (headaches, diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, outbreaks of spots).And I have never tried any detox teas ... until now. I thought at fifty six years of age, it was about time I gave detoxing a go in the hope of improving my general health. I have COPD and never really feel on top of the world health wise as I often feel tired and lacking in energy. I am also very overweight.So when I was offered this set of two 50g 'Body Cure' teas (one for detoxing and one for slimming) for reviewing purposes I jumped at the chance.Both the 'Detox Me' and 'Slim Me' detox teas come securely packed inside a sealed plastic bag, inside an attractive cardboard cylinder, inside a good quality white coloured box. Each of these bags contain 50g of loose herbal tea.The detox tea and the slimming tea have different ingredients which include ...Detox Tea:LemongrassNettle LeafGingerLiquoriceFennelAniseSlimming Tea:Gunpowder Green TeaLemongrassMatePeppermintAs soon as you open the bags you can smell the freshness of the ingredients, in fact the smell is almost overpowering as the mix of ingredients hit your senses. The over riding scent of the detox tea is Liquorice and Anise and the main scent of the slimming tea is peppermint. The scents from the other herbs are there, but they are much more subtle.These teas are simplicity itself to use, both teas can be drunk at any time and I have chosen to drink the detox tea in the evening and the slimming tea sometime before breakfast.Instructions for making the teas are as follows:Place a one to two teaspoons of your chosen tea into a warm teapot, fill up with boiling water and leave to seep for three to five minutes. Both the slimming tea and the detox tea have woody stem and leaves to brew, so I left mine for about five minutes which produced quite a strong and refreshing brew.So how did I get on?Well, first things first, I loved the taste of both of these teas, very refreshing and I could almost feel them cleansing my system as I sipped them. Both of the teas have a reasonably nice taste (due to the peppermint and liquorice) and although I was aware that there were other ingredients in the teas, I couldn't actually distinguish what they were.I have been religiously drinking these teas once daily for a little under two weeks and during the whole of that time, I have had no adverse reaction at all ... all body functions have been normal :)How do I feel? Wonderful ... my whole internal system feels like it has been completely overhauled. My skin looks a lot healthier and I really do seem to have more energy and feel a lot less tired. I am also sleeping better and amazingly I have actually lost 2lb in weight and I haven't even been dieting.To sum up ... brilliant product, that works really well and I for one will be certainly purchasing these teas on a regular basis.
