## Description

The French art of cracked varnish - perfect used in moderation over painting or decoupage to create the look of an 'Old Master' painting. The way this craqueleur works is as below: (it work best with a piece that has been one colour or two colour aged and then vanished) 1) paint and vanish your furniture (the furniture will need to be varnished ) 2) paint a liberate coat of base coat onto the painted and varnished surface and allow to dry 3) the basecoat is dry once the milkiness disappear but the surface will remain slightly tacky 4) apply the top coat. once the top coat dry, tiny cracks will appear in the varnish. 5) then you can highlight the cracks using water-based raw umber or brown wax.
