The nuts could come loose. If you have to use it with the rotation away from you for some reason I would turn it around as others have suggested or mount it such that you can approach it from behind. **Q: Does anyone know how many times someone will ask the same question? Like, what's the arbor/shaft size?** A: The shaft to the tip of the threads is 4-1/2" and the diameter is 1/2". It will accomodate buffer wheels from less than 1/2" to 3" thick with the included multiple length spacers on the arbor shaft. **Q: Where is this product manufactured?** A: It is made in Taiwan. Runs nice. **Q: What are the rpm's from low to high speed. I need something in the 1000 to 1200 rpm.** A: This buffer is variable speed, from 0 up to 3400 I think. I usually use it around 1800 but will go as low as 900 at times. I use it for buffing knives.
