Great Product to Keep the Heat Away
I used this sunshade during a recent trip to Phoenix in my R1T and it work great. Did a great job of reducing the amount of heat in the cabin. I read several negative reviews regarding this product and I understand why but I think they are mostly user error. The shade is oversized and meant to be be tucked in between the headliner and the glass. Mine has a pretty big gap in most places but it did require me to pull headliner down a little in spots (it is held in place magnetically so it will snap back automatically). If you do this correctly it will be tight and should not sag. The biggest issue I had with this is trying to remove it. It was so form fitted, I had trouble finding a place to grip it to remove it. Would be nice to have a little pull tab. Overall, this is a must have accessory for any Rivian especially if you live or plan to visit the desert with your Rivian.

Keeps cabin temperature down during hot months
not that many options for sunshades for the R1S yet so was happy to find this one that fits in the glass sunroom for 2nd row. Rivian cabin often gets really hot from the radiating heat from the sun. You can tint it for a few hundred bucks but this is much cheaper and more effective solution.Comes folded in a bag but unfolds by itself. Better to do it inside the cabin since the thing is pretty big and barely fits in the door if unfolded. You basically unfold it and push the edges around the space between the glass and the trim of the car. It comes with a trim removable tool but I didn’t want to mess around with prying open trim. Also comes with plastic clips to keep it attached to the trim but I didn’t need them since once you get one edge in between the trim with your fingers, you can work the other sides into the glass and it fits well without the clips. After leaving it in the sun, definitely can feel the difference in the cabin temperature, less radiant heat for sure. It does block the visibility quite a bit but i guess that is the whole point of the sunshade. Will use this in the hot summer months and take it off during the winter months.

Solid but not perfect
It’s pretty good. But sun is still visible a little. Install was super easy. And definitely does something. I’m in south Florida and this definitely helped cool truck faster.

BUYER BEWARE
I was really excited when i saw this roof shade on Amazon because the interior of the car gets super hot on sunny days. I followed the instructions (which were pretty short and general in nature, but could not even get it to stay open while trying in vain to get the f@:$ing thing on. I searched online for better installation instructions and read that i should use use something to get the frame of this thing in between the inside roof and the glass. I bought a plastic scraper and tried and tried to make it work but it just won’t. Just got on my Amazon account to find maybe some tips in the existing reviews. And now my return window is closed and I’m stuck with this thing I cannot use. What a waste of money. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Amazing product!
If you live in the southwest or southeast and are having problems cooling your Rivian get this product! I live in Las Vegas and I was running the fan at 5-6 speed setting to keep my wife cool now we rarely go beyond 3 setting. Very well built item and and Item that works! I can feel the difference in internal temps by at least 10 degrees on the seats in the back and air temp. Easy 5 minute install with no tools really needed. Stays tight and looks OEM. Best after market item I have bought for my rivian.

Nice product. Easy fast install
Living in the south means hot humid summer days. I’m the guy that would have ordered an R1T without the panorama glass were it an option. Two of our last three vehicles had them and I’m not a fan. Anyways this unit is awesome. It comes with an installation tool and clips should you desire extra support. Thai install, start near one corner. DO NOT PRY YOUR HEADLINER with the tool. Rather place it on the material of the shade and direct the wire on. Took all of 2 minutes. I do wish this thing had tabs to make removal a little easier, but it fits nicely and makes noticeable reduction in the summer heat.

Good quality but design not properly executed.
I was excited to learn that I could control sunrays into the R1T. Rivian should have designed a retractable sunroof like the Landrover Evoque. Unfortunately the design is cumbersome since it requires two people for installation. Not feasible since 95% of time it is just solo driving. So a one person install is challenging as it requires having to pop open the trim held by magnets. An improvement to the design would be to make the edges thin enough so that it could just set into the gap between the trim and glass. Without having to pop it open. That way the driver could do it without getting out of the seat. Food for thought.

Less solar gain = Less AC = more range .
Spend a lot of time working in the truck and in the summer it seems like the AC is always cranking. I added this and was surprised how such a minor change can have a great effect on cabin comfort. It also helps with charging (i charge on 6.5kw a lot) and even range since the AC has less work to do.As for install, I definitely did not follow the instructions. I just put the unit in place between trim and the glass. No clips, no tools, no removals of trim, just pushed one corner in with my fingers, pushed the opposing corner in, and ran the edges of the shade around with my fingers. It fits perfectly in the gap , takes about 5 minutes the first time and prob 2 minutes for in/out if doing it alone. The product seems quality thus far and fits nicely into the bag and in the frunk when I want the sun peeking in.My only request would be a loop of ribbon or a tag of some sort on each edge so I can remove it without pulling at the fabric each time. This is likely where it will fail at some point, but as always I’ll update the review if that does change. If you have any questions please leave a comment below so we can get you an answer. Otherwise, thank you for reading my review, I hope it helps with your purchasing decision. Thanks,Chris
