I think this item quite literally saved the lives of my family. I smelt gas and no one believed me. The boiler was recently serviced, within the last month. This device alarmed in the exact location I could smell gas. So then we had the national gas emergency team out and they initially didn't believe me either but thanks to this device I held my ground saying it had alarmed exactly where I smelt gas and they waited longer, finally detecting it very strongly and sealed off our gas. We then had the local heating engineers out to see what was wrong and they initially said there's nothing wrong with this boiler, no gas leak and told me CO is odourless. I explained it was this natural gas alarm that was picking up the gas and that the previous engineer had to wait to detect it once the boiler was on. This engineer then discovered that we had a faulty gas safety valve and highly flammable gas filling our enclosed boiler room. The heating engineer said we were extremely lucky I detected it and that this could have ended very differently. I thank this tiny device. Quite literally the best purchase I have ever made as my two very young children sleep in the room beneath the boiler.

To be on the safe side I bought his because I needed to check an old gas fire unit that my son said he could smell gas from, though I couldn't. when I got it I tested it on a butane lighter & an open gas hob. it alarmed in both cases which gave me comfort in the certainty that it works, I then tested the suspect gas appliance & found it to be safe. so for peace of mind & additional security, having one of these little gadgets to periodically test gas appliances for safety when you feel the need is well worth the money, especially if you can't smell gas as well as you once did ! so for peace of mind it's worth having in the house & when you do get a positive when you should get a qualified professional to come & sort out your problem.

The tester appears to work ok I think. It certainly detects propane gases. So far though it has only detected gases that i can smell. I have not found a leak of gas yet.

I’m a gasfitter in NZ , have used it a few times . Picks up LPG very minimal amounts when checking test points of fires of gas meters . Fits in toolbag easy. Seems good quality

Works as expected. I bought this because I secretly intend to cap off a pipe and change my gas hob to an induction hob. So I tested it with a tiny bit of gas from the hob and it went off immediately, as shown in the video. It'll be perfect for my current job, but nice to know I've got it for in the future if I ever smell gas or have concerns. 👍

I smelt gas coming out of our dry stone wall - this meter was superb! It showed exactly where the leak was… Northern Gas Networks were amazed.. “Wow, I’ve never been shown exactly where a leak is by a customer with a meter!!” Great value

Great product, I bought this to detect gas leaks on my propane torch set up and it works and it is easy to use.

Really good for the price. And you can check before the annual inspections so you don’t get caught out.

Efficient

This thing works great for the home DIY person or to have around to check for gas leaks. I was extremely impressed with how well it works for the low cost. I have used it primarily for checking connections with my BBQ and fire pit connections, but it can also be a good tool if you think you have a gas leak and want to verify before calling the gas company.
