As a dog walker I am out in all weathers and regularly up on the mountains. When the weather is below zero and I am out walking the mountains it is my face that freezes, even with a scarf wrapped round the wind finds its way in and I end up with a numb face. I have previously purchased a fitted balaclava but just found it a bit claustrophobic. When I found this I was a bit dubious about how warm it would be, I have been proved very wrong! It is incredibly warm. When it isn't windy I can just wear it, without a scarf as I tuck the lower part of the hood into my jacket - this is very well designed and is long enough to be tucked in and stay in. When it is windy I tie up the toggles so my face is enclosed, except for my eyes. It is so warm I actually get a little too hot, even when it was below zero and windy up high. I recommend this product, it's brilliant.Please note: I received a small discount on this item in order to review it. However, I would like to add I will be buying another in a different colour.

This balaclava is a great idea in principle but I feel like it isn't as durable or heavyweight as I wanted it to be. I picked grey to wear as I figured it would probably go well with most things but the grey is a little lighter than I expected and, in hindsight, I would pick black in future. The colour choice is not what has influenced me to give this product five stars however as that was purely my choice.I have taken off some stars because I was disappointed with the material of the product. It is of a decent design but the fleece material is actually very thin and light and doesn't feel heavyweight to me at all. My balaclava also came with a little hole in the fleece on the front edge around the face which you can just see in the photo where my husband is wearing it (on the part that holds the drawstring). I think that this is basically because the material is not that durable. I have worn it out once in cold weather, and it kept me warm enough but I don't think that this product is going to be as durable as other clothing that I have.In terms of how it fits, it is a little big on me (although this is what I expected) and it fits my husband a little better. I do really love the design and the fact that it has a longer piece that covers the whole neck area as it really helps to keep out the wind. I just wish it had been made in a different material.In conclusion, I love the idea and the design but the thin fleece feels cheap to me I am sorry to say.I was fortunate enough to receive this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great addition to my winter wardrobe. I can't wait to use it in the bitter January days. It's made from a really soft, warm fleece material. The balaclava part covers up to my nose which will keep my face nice & warm. The hood is great and will make sure I don't lose my ears to the cold. In addition to all that it actually looks pretty nice on which i wasn't expecting. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition.I received this item at a reduced price in exchange for a review.

Was bigger than I expectedbut in a good way, the hood can completely cover your face, nice feel to it(no itching). I have taken a picture of the symbols for washing(looks like Egyptian hieroglyphs to me)Great addition to my camping kit but it wouldn't be suitable to wear in public due to the size.A star has been lost due to the product received being slightly different to that pictured, the toggles shown are a lot longer and the neck seems to deeper. I was lucky enough to be given this product at a discount for an honest unbiased review if anyone has any questions feel free to contact.

This is ideal for walking amongst the Welsh Mountains. I usually use a neck warmer and a woolly hat, but this provides the best of both. The material is very soft, a good thickness and of good quality. The tongue provides protection from the cold seeping under the balaclava which continues up to provide a double layer around the ears and back of the neck, this then continues to create a single layer around the front to cover the mouth and chin. The hood area is ample size for any head, on me it is comfortably loose to allow easy movement.Very happy with this purchase.

I purchased this product for my husband, he plays a lot of football outdoors and as the weather is getting colder and wetter he needed something more than a hat to keep him warm. It is made of soft fleece material and it fits very well, I have also tried it on and it fits me to which is great. I purchased the grey coloured one as its a neutral colour and would go with anything worn, but I'm going to purchase another one in black for myself.This would also make a great gift for Christmas as it is something that would be useful for anyone.I'd highly recommend this product. Bought this product in order to review as an additional piece of clothing for my university hiking club hikes and must say that I find it helps so much with my neck becoming cold, which for me personally has been a problem on previous hikes.It's also lightweight and easy to store without taking up much space which helps a lot while I'm travelling to our hike destinations.Highly recommended to my society and to anyone else who spends time hiking

Absolutely superb. Been using a cheap version from elsewhere and i didn't realise that was so thin. The only two points i would change are. 1. I would like toggles fitted to the drawstrings (10 for 99p on auction sites) and for it to be slighter smaller. However, with the wind we have been getting in the UK. The oversize might be good! Very warm and feels lovely on your skin oohhh errrr.
