Hmmmm 🤔 Where do I begin? Okay... The MAXSTRENGTH Professional Strike Shield for Kickboxing Training seems solid enough... The pad itself feels like it can take punishment. However, upon closer inspection, the top handle (as seen in the photos) seems as though it can rip out fairly easily. One would have to take great care to not pull on the handle and / or kick the shield in a way that it can be ripped away from the person holding it.This seemingly minor detail can make all the difference in short to long-term use. I was swayed by the video of the MAXSTRENGTH Professional Strike Shield for Kickboxing Training. I think it should be okay for my intended usage. That said, it would have been so much better to not have to think about the main handle at the top. It is a bit of a worry... I guess this is what one can expect for the asking price of £25.85. It is very inexpensive!VerdictIf you are a Martial Artist and you either have or want to develop a powerful kick, you just might be better off with a more expensive shield. Expect to pay roughly twice the price. You know the saying? If you buy cheaply, you buy twice! At the moment, I am on a tight budget, otherwise I would have sent it back. I've ordered quite a bit of gear for my home set-up.So, I am going to have to hope that I won't cause the handle(s) to rip out! I am envisioning having to use gaffer tape in the future... Let's hope I can get some good mileage out of it before I have to resort to patching the thing up! 😅Score3 / 5It is so inexpensive, and potentially not as durable as you'd expect or want. I found these a very good training tool for my students. It is light enough for children to hold so they can use them with one another and multiple children can practice kicks and punches at the same time when you have multiple pads. They're also good for adults to use as well.
