Excellent Alternative to those pricey cyclone dust collectors!
I had a large industrial type dust collector last year until it started spewing dust all over my shop. I got rid of it and have only been running small dust collectors that haven't captured much of the debris from my table saw. It got to a dangerous point where I could only run a few pieces of wood and then have to stop for several hours. I don't have a lot of time off so this was becoming ridiculous. I had talked to a couple woodworkers and then researched online. I thought I would give this company/product a try, And boy was I glad I did! From saw table hooks into one part of the drum/canister, then the shop vac hooks into other side. Creates something similar to a cyclone machine on a much lower scale. It does a fantastic job. Heavy stuff swirls around bottom, harmful dust sucked into the vac. Room is clear from what I can tell. I am not coughing anymore like I was previous to this, so that is the test!

Exceeded my expectations
Works better than the Dust Deputy it replaced. Was surprised when it arrived. The box was A LOT smaller than I thought it would be. Once I started to assemble it. . . I was thinking I hope this holds suction. By the time I finished the assembly. I was thinking, "this thing is well designed."PROs: You can see how full the container is by the shadow of what is inside. I truly feel it works better than the Dust Deputy. The wheeled collection container rolls around easy enough and does not tip over. Collection container is easy to empty. Collection container is light enough to easily empty.CONs: Collection container fills fast. Would be nice if it was a little larger.Over All - I would purchase again or give away as a gift.

Functions as intended.
This product does exactly what it claims to. Used with an old tornado dust extractor and a small 4 gallon rigid vacuum and it did really well with the dust extractor and a 50’ 2.5” hose. In the smaller vac it did ok but the suction loss was noticeable. Collapsed a bit under pressure but went back to normal

Great addition to my wood shop!
Easy setup and works great! Been using this quite a bit; over halfway to the full mark with sawdust and no noticeable loss of suction so far. Best part is virtually no debris or sawdust in the shop vac. Game changer for me being on a limited budget, will save a ton on bags and filters!

I was impressed how easy it was to use
Bought this a while back and used it for the first time today. I was impressed how easy it was to use. I hooked up my wet/dry Rigid shop vac to it (using duct tape as I still can't find all the reducers required) and it stopped my HF bench sander - sucked the darn thing to the metal so hard it stopped turning. I left the wheels off as I'm planning on building a box for the shop vac to keep the noise down and mounting the separator on top (vertical saves valuable garage floor space) - UPDATE: box completed and cuts the noise down where I can have a normal conversation while it is in use - however - the lid cracked from the vac intake side and about 1/3 around - I checked my hose and even though I have 15ft of it to my tools it was clear - to be fair I live in CO and it has been very cold here even though the day I was using it was in the mid 60s in an insulated wood working shop (a.k.a. garage) - asked Amazon to process a refund (on a wild outside chance I might get at least the lid replacement) and they (Rockler I think) approved the entire refund for the whole product - problem I have is do I simply replace it or look for another solution (make a plywood lid)? Shop is not 100% without it, but I'm very happy with the very fast (one day) reply and outcome/support.Well another update - it has been pretty hot here in CO of late and I have found several new cracks around the replaced lid (so cold was not a main factor and maybe not a contributor at all) - asking for another replacement just today. Here is my take on all of this - it is better to find something more stout maybe for a little more money - this is a good product but it just does not stand-up to my use. I ran 2.5 inch pvc pipe to all my machines (6 ft of pipe with 4 angled sweeps not 45s or 90s). I have found I really don't need this and if the lid gets replaced I'm going to use it right off the bucket (currently tool hose to pvc run to dust right to 5 or 6 hp rigid shop vac with a filter bag before the canister vac filter). The vac box does cut down on the noise considerably - and I found not connecting it directly to the exhaust port helps keep the motor cooler- that is the internal pressure builds up until it can push out the exhaust port with a hose attached and end capped off with a vac muffler (really it is a defuser)- I removed a star as this is the 2nd lid that needs replacing - however last time customer service was great - just more hassle than I want. Well customer service said no dice as it was well past the 90 day limit and they already replace it once past the 90 day limit. Bad for me and them as I'm moving on to the dust deputy. I really did like this product (outside of the lid) and I wanted it to work but not in the cards for me. I might try a plywood/MDF lid - gives me a reason to practice my router skills and I'll get to use my home made router circle jig. Because it only lasted a short time I'm taking another star off - however customer service was great and very timely. I implore Rockler to address this issue and fix the problem.

Works great
This works great, all dust and debris swirls to the bottom of the bucket. The shop vac and filter stays totally clean and therefore, the suction stays powerful. Wish I would have bought it years ago, I would have saved a lot of money on filter replacements.

I now use it as a garbage can!
I sand a lot of Aromatic Cedar, Poplar and walnut. Lot of fine dust. I was going through filters way too quick and realized I needed a separator. It was a toss up between the Rockler Dust Right and the Oneida Dust Deputy Cyclone. Went with the Dust Right. I still went through filters - almost as fast without the separator. Called Rockler to make sure I hadn't screwed up something. After several months I bit the bullet and bought the Dust Deputy Cyclone. Works better than advertised. I have to empty the Cyclone about every 4 weeks- but still on the same new vac filter I put in when I got the Dust Deputy. The Rockler without the top and a 33 gal plastic bag works fantastic as a garbage can!
