much to my surprise this rod is rated for 60 gm casting weight. My other telescopic rod is only 30 gm casting weight, which shows how the technology is improving.It proved to have 'backbone', feels sturdy, and seemed to work as well as 2-piece rods.with telescoping to less than 2-foot in length it stows away with my tent poles and gets reqularly carried ready for use. Ideal for me both for camping and travelling, and simply to carry it opportunistically and tuck it away in my daysack.It gets much used. Some people reckon it could get snapped when reeling in a 10 lb fish. In fact my friend used an older, weaker telescoping rod to land a 15 lb fish, and if worried about such things, can always work to first tire out the fish and then handline it to land.The extended length of 8 feet combined with 60 gm casting weight proved more than ample for casting Tobie lures for Sea Bass in shore fishing.The vendor has been very helpful in replacing a lost ring-protector cap, the goods arrived quickly and in good condition.Very pleased with it !Peter

I'm new to fishing but found this cheap rod and reel very easy to use. It's certainly robust enough too, I caught a dozen mackerel on my rod's maiden outing - including three mackerel on the same line (using a rig with five feather hooks). Excellent value.

Really difficult to set up....

Great fishing rod with all you need as a starter kit. Shame we don't know how to fish so we haven't caught anything yet!! Arrived on time. No problems.

Carbon Telescopic Fishing Starter/Travel Set ...........had a good look at it and although I have yet to try it does seem to be of pretty fair quality and it fits in my suitcase :)

Whenever I go on holiday, at home or abroad, I always say to my wife, I wish I brought my fishing rod, so she persuaded me to buy this telescopic fishing set. It will be very useful and I can`t wait to use it when I go to Ibiza in October. It is lightweight and good quality, the only thing I need is a bag.

Bought this to take abroad as soon as I opened it one of the eyes on the rod was loose and fell off, the whole thing had a cheap nasty feel about it, and I still to this day bring myself to use it . my advice don't waste your money.

Looks great but the Reel broke after an hour.

Actually surprisingly good. My son must have pressed the buy it now button when playing with my phone. Didnt intend to buy it so was surprised when it turned up.

The rods's OK & the box comes in handy, but the screw came out of the bale arm on the reel the 2nd time I used it, I couldn't find the screw so the reel became useless, I was on...

Rod fine, reel completely fell to pieces in first half hour. Would like a replacement.

Rods are great but hooks with barb are not allowed on many waterways and would have been nice to have a combination of barbed and not.

I thought that handle would have been in cork and it turned out to be rubber.

It broke the very first time I used it. Really poor quality
