Made in China
This is a beautiful, smooth real.I looked all over the reel to find where it was made. No label. I guess manufacturer was ashamed to admit it was made in China.Pflueger made great classic fly reels, became subsumed by Shakespeare, originally made in Kalamazoo, MI. Now all part of Proline I think. Also have the Hardy brand.Great stuff but bring it home boys.

Butter Smooth Drag UPDATED
Update: after a year's usage it just keeps getting better. I own other major companies' reels and like them but for strength, durability, line management and drag smoothness the Patriarch 30X exceeds much more expensive reels. Did I mention SMOOTH? I've caught more fish than I can count with it and it just keeps getting better. I highly recommend this product.I've been fishing for over 50 years and have used about every reel out there at one time or another. I was advised not to waste my money on this reel and buy a lesser one. I'm extremely OCD when it comes to my gear and the Patriarch 30 is the first to check all the boxes. Super lightweight (6.5 oz), extremely rigid with no flex, extremely smooth steady line lay, perfect line management, great retrieve (around 30-31 inches) and absolutely silent under the load of a large smallmouth. The drag is just ridiculously slick and responsive. It won't be my last one. This is not a poison apple so take a bite.

Reel had to be returned after 3 uses
Only used 3 times an had to return as the bail stopped working properly, beside that it was a really nice reel , the quality on newer reels of this brand have gone down hill big time , not what they use to be
