Best above ground pool ever!
I am so excited about this pool! It is sturdy, excellent size and we totally enjoy! Was a little more difficult to set up, but assembly was easy. We set up in about 4 hours and had 3 people to help. The pump works great and as with all pumps, when the jet flow decreases, backwash and boils, you are back in business! I wish I had bought this years ago.

Greatest buy of the summer!
I am so super glad we bought this!! Truly the best thing we bought. We have 5 grandkids and many people that like to come over for bbq's and whatnot and everyone has enjoyed using this pool. It's not the largest one but for our space it worked. The quality of the pool and the pump is phenomenal! The only thing we didn't like was the ladder. Seemed very flimsy and narrow for some of the adults. We didn't use ours, gave it to a neighbor, and bought another sturdier ladder. Other than that the pool has been great. I would say buy this pool as soon as you can, you won't regret it!

Pool great! Pump too small.
The pool is super nice! My husband and I are old farts and we set it up ourselves in an afternoon. Lifting the walls is challenging tho and if you can get help, do it! My only disappointment is the pump that comes with it...way too small to move the water with any efficiency. A garden hose has more pressure lol We are now looking for a pump with at least .5hp and 3000gph. Other than that, very happy with our purchase!

Two Weeks In โ Sturdy, Crystal Clear, and a Real Backyard Centerpiece
We've had this Intex 18' x 52" Ultra XTR rectangular frame pool up and running for two weeks now, and so far we're really impressed. This is a substantial pool โ the charcoal-gray frame and triple-layer walls feel solid and well-built, not like the flimsy ring pools we've owned before. Setup We set ours up on a concrete patio, and here's a tip I'd pass along: we laid down 2-inch foam insulation board underneath, with a heavy tarp/ground cloth over it to protect the liner. The foam does double duty โ it cushions the floor so it's much more comfortable underfoot, and it helps insulate the water so it holds heat better overnight. Highly recommend doing this if you're setting up on concrete. Budget a few hours and grab a second person โ seating the side panels and locking the frame joints is much easier with two. A few bricks came in handy for keeping things steady during assembly. The metal frame pieces are powder-coated and feel genuinely rigid once everything's locked together. Build Quality Two weeks in, the walls are holding firm with no bowing, no leaks, and no sagging at the seams. The structural beams really do their job. It feels stable enough that the kids can splash around without the whole thing flexing. Filtration & Water Quality The included Intex sand filter pump has been the star so far. The water is crystal clear and bright blue โ exactly what you see in our photo โ and the sand filter keeps it that way with way less fuss than the cartridge pumps we've dealt with before. We also added a separate pool heat pump to the setup, and the connections were straightforward; it's made the water comfortable even on cooler evenings and stretches our swim season nicely. Paired with the foam insulation underneath, the water holds its temperature noticeably well. Ladder & Accessories We went with a separate A-frame safety ladder with a barrier instead of relying solely on the included one, and it feels much more secure for getting in and out โ worth considering if you have kids around. The pool's been a hit for floats and lounging. Honest Notes So Far It's a big, heavy kit โ definitely a two-person job to set up. Plan for extras the box doesn't include: chemicals, test strips, a skimmer net, and possibly a sturdier ladder and foam/ground protection. We can't speak to long-term durability yet at only two weeks, but everything is rock-solid so far and I'll update if anything changes. Bottom Line Two weeks in and we'd buy it again. Put in the effort on a flat, protected base โ foam board underneath if you're on concrete โ and stay on top of your water chemistry, and you get a roomy, durable above-ground pool that genuinely transforms the backyard. Highly recommended.

Great Pool for the Money
So far, a week in to using it, and we LOVE this Intex 12' x 24' x 52" above ground pool! After 2 Florida summers of using an Intex 18 ft round "blow up" style pool, which was way too shallow for us, this pool is a welcome upgrade. We purchased this pool primarily as a safe, low impact way to get cardio exercise and to stay cool during the brutal Florida summer months! A few things should be noted about our experience thus far: 1) It is IMPERATIVE that you make time to do thorough ground prep work BEFORE attempting to set up the pool. Failure to do so will result in an un-level water line, plus you will feel every single uneven bump under your feet once the pool is filled with water. We spent close to 2 weeks taking out grass, raking, leveling, etc. We finally built a 2x4 wood frame so that we could be more certain about our finished grade. We gave 3 stars for ease of assembly rather than 5, purely because of the prep time it takes to get the ground right. 2) The supposed ground cloth that came with the set is actually a super CHEAP, low quality tarp. Because we didn't feel like it was at all sufficient for the base of this pool, we purchased 1/2 inch foam interlocking "floor tiles" for the dimensions of the pool (12' x 24'). We used the ground cloth, then put down the pads and taped them together before spreading out the pool. Now that the pool is full, we are SO happy that we spent the extra time and money to do this. See photo as we started putting down the foam pads. 3) You will have an added expense for supports to go under each leg. Lucky for us, friends had the perfect sized thick paver stones left over from a porch project, so we got this for free. On some pool install videos, people use pressure treated lumber instead of patio stones. 4) Set up will go a lot easier if you let the pool set out in the sun for a day before trying to proceed with the install. Also, make sure you have a ladder assembled and ready before you attempt to set the pool up, as you'll need a reliable way to get in and out during the process. 5) We are DIY seniors (66 and 75) who must admit that set up was a lot easier with a third person. Day one hubby tried to go it alone and just as he finished, a big 30 mile an hour wind gust came up and shifted the pool off the pad by nearly 6 feet. SUPER frustrating when everything had to be dismantled. Save the aggravation and have extra hands and bodies! 6) With knee and back problems, also being tall/large, the ladder that came with our pool package was definitely NOT sturdy enough or safe for us to use. Because of our prior experiences with unstable above ground pool ladders, we ended up purchasing TWO of the ExtremePower 32 inch Safety Step Above Ground Swimming Ladder w/Handles, one for the interior and one for the exterior. This definitely made me feel very safe entering and exiting the pool. (We'll write a separate review about the steps) We sunk some old 6" x 6" posts near the edge of the pool and placed a 2" x 12" on top to have something to screw the steps into securely. 7) If you're over 5' 8" tall, don't buy a pool that is shorter than 52 inches unless all you want to do is float. We would have liked to have gotten a 54" inch depth, but this maximum depth for this style pool was 52". It's just deep enough to do our various water exercises when the water is at the highest possible level. We're hoping that this pool will hold up well, but gave it a 3 for sturdiness, since it's still very new. We read some reviews where people complained about the pump being to small, but so far, all is well with the sand pump that came in our package. We've been swimming every day and are loving it!!! Just make sure you go through all of the steps to make the foundation level and it will be swell!

Swimming time is fun time
My family was tired of going to the community pool, so, I purchased this for their own enjoyment. Super easy to install (make sure to use baby powder on the poles for an easy slip. This saves ALOT of TIME during installation). It took 2 of us 2 hours to complete and 1 1/2 days to fill up. The only issue is the pump went out during the backwash. I contacted the manufacturer (INTEX) and they sent me a new one. It took approximately 10 days. Also, the pump has a 2 year warranty. Overall, I highly recommend it ๐

Upgades not included but needed
Over all I'm happy, wish instructions would mention the size of a base needed to prep before setting up. I leveled out a size of the pool itself with a little room, 12'6" x24'6" but that wasn't quite enough and the braces ended up just outside of my pad and as I rushed to get support under them, now it's not as level as I'd like. The pump is definitely not large enough for the size and I will be replacing it as soon as possible. Definitely need to add a skimmer as well. I did add a solar cover and real system and highly recommend. Canopy is great and withstands the high winds but at times it can collapse into the pool but is very durable. The ladder is too small and awkward to use getting in and out. I recommend adding a larger ladder as it is a larger pool. Over all, I recommend taking time setting up and I even added 2" foam board 12'x24' was enough for the base, but the support bars need at least 13'x25' and level. Don't rush the perimeter as I ended up doing. I will be redoing it before next summer and adding a deck. Bigger pump and larger ladder should included with this package .

Sturdy for wild children
This pool is pretty sturdy with wild children hopping up and down and jumping off ladder. Not many people post videos so wanted to share. The pump is a super powerful pump but FAR FAR better that the cartridge pumps and pretty easy to use and it's the right amount of suction power if you want to add solar water heater.
