BUDDY BELTS Durable BB2 Dog Harness - Synthetic Leather (Caramel, Size 5)

I've been trying to find a harness suitable for a large lizard (16 lb Argentine Tegu). I've gone through dozens of harnesses and this is the first one I've found that I trust to hold him if he decides to flip out. The reptile specific harnesses are all either too small or too flimsy to stand up to a tantrum. The dog & cat harnesses never fit both his neck and midsection because his body shape is too odd. The ones that have been close have adjustments on both the neck and midsection - they are very hard to adjust and put on, bulky, and he can still wiggle out of them eventually.The design of this is such that regardless of shape that it should fit about any animals with legs as long as the chest diameter matches. The material is extremely sturdy with no give or stretch so it seems like it will hold up well with time. Even when I buckle it on tightly it doesn't put pressure on his neck even when he's pulling on the leash. Additionally it has almost no bulk and he seemed to forget he was wearing it almost immediately rather than trying frantically to scratch it off like usual. Additionally even when he did try to pull full force on the leash the harness did not slip at all - given how strong tegus are that is an engineering marvel. He hasn't tried to back out of the harness yet but it seems like it will hold - He hasn't even tried yet though because the harness seems to be far more comfortable than the others I've tried. It is also by far the easiest harness to put on - he practically steps into it himself and then I just need to buckle it. With some harnesses getting him into it was a 10 minute ordeal. The only negative is that the leash loop is round rather than D shaped so it puts some pressure on his back - he doesn't seem to care but still seems like a minor design issue. Other than that this product is flawless.I'll also note that I almost didn't buy because he is right between sizes (40 cm), I ended up getting a size 4 which fits perfectly with several belt notches to spare - it seems like the sizing is pretty flexible overall.This review may not be any help to dog owners - but I can say pretty confidently that this is the best harness for "non-standard" animals with an escape artist streak.

I'm very disappointed. I've heard great things about this brand and purchased a harness for my Frenchie a month and a half ago. It had been the correct size and everything. I only used it on my dogs for casual walks or car rides. Today during our walk in the park the harness belt snapped in half. As previous reviewers have stated its made of cheap material and leather that split at the seams. If your going for looks it looks great as a fashion accessorie the 1st few weeks of use before it starts to fall apart. Its not made for long term usage and falls apart fairly quickly. The harness didn't hold up for 2 months even. Another consumer claims these are cheap knock offs from China. Customer service through the vendor is non existent as they don't address consumer emails post purchase. The vendor ignored me when I requested an exchange or refund. The harness doesn't include a warranty and is far to expendable considering the hefty price tag for a not so hefty harness.

This product is not as durable as the original Buddy Belt from Canada. A friend of mine has had the original for 4 years and has not seen a scratch on it. I had this product for about 2 weeks, and wear and tear showed up faster than I expected (see photo). I measured my dog 5 times before ordering the size that was recommended; when I got it, I had to buckle it on the next to last hole to make it fit snug. I do not recommend this product for any dog, spend the money for the original like I will be in a few minutes.

Our 16 lb Shih Tzu chewed through it on her first attempt and in seconds! She was sitting in her dog booster in our truck and we took our eyes off her for a split second. I looked back and it was completely chewed through! I am disgusted especially for what they cost. Btw... 3 days later, our 5.4 lb Morkie chewed hers also. We are out the $45 and $28, respectively, with no recourse. We hadn't owned them for more than a week when this happened. Up until that point I was okay with the harnesses. I will say that they are stiff and as a result of the fit, both of my dogs were able to get the chest portion of their harness into their mouths to do this damage. When the dog is up and moving the harness seems to fit fine. But when they lay down the harnesses stick up (for lack of a better way to explain the harness problem) so there is quite a bit of "air" space betweeen the dog and the harness itself. This allowed both dogs to get the harness into their mouths.

This harness worked and works PERFECTLY for our little four pound Yorkie. Couldn't ask for a betterproduct. As long as you get the right size, you WILL NOT be disappointed. It's also very easy to geton and off of our dog, Peanut, with the buckle done up. He is unable to wiggle out, but easy for us to slip over his head and lift his legs through.Thoroughly happy with it!!

Its nice, not as nice as the leather, but we're trying to help the planet and the animals sooo...

Really helpful in walking my cockapoo instead of her previous collar. Its like driving a car in automatic mode :)
