Q: Is the mitre box made of metal or plastic?

It’s plastic. However the actual saw is terrible don’t waste your money! I had one and the blade retaining screw snapped whilst using it and then was given a replacement and the same thing happened. Very poor quality for CK , being a sparky I own a lot of their tools which are great and some have lasted for 18 years…..

Q: would this be suitable for cutting mdf dado rail? I am a complete diy novice so feel confused by all the different items for sale.

No, you'd be better using a tenon saw and a mitre box.

Q: What is width inside box in cm please...I.e. Width if wood it will take.

15cms length,and,5.5cms depth for the hacksaw,and box is14cms long,2cms depth,and,4cms width.

Dont bother buying this rubbish .. its soft plastic .. The hacksaw cuts through it the first time you use it .. don t waste you re money bud
