There's a reason this type of rice cooker is so popular
This is a great, low cost, no frills rice cooker, no settings to worry about, no electronics to go wrong (it's all done with magnets!). I cook rice in it a couple of times a week, my wife cooks quinoa in it about as often, I'll occasionally make porridge with it and every two or three weeks I'll do a delicious chorizo and prawn jambalaya in it. It handles everything perfectly, the rice is well cooked and fluffy and the non-stick surface is good quality making washing up an absolute breeze. It's the perfect size for one or two, able to cook little enough or more than enough for two or more if you have guests or want extra rice (for example to make a stir fry next day. There's two things that would make this even better, in my opinion, one is a few sample recipes for people starting out with it, and the second is a steamer basket, I've bought one separately but it wasn't quite the right size so I've had to 3D print an adaptor ring.(If anyone's interested, I make my jambalaya by heating up a little chorizo sausage in a small frying pan until it gives off it's oil, then frying off onions peppers and garlic in the oil toasting some Cajun seasoning and then adding a tablespoon of tomato puree and mixing. This is then transferred to the rice cooker with washed long grain rice and some frozen peas or sweetcorn, I use cooled chicken stock instead of water (1 1/2 times the rice by volume) and a pinch of salt. Mix well then cook as normal - ie press the button and wait! - once it's finished cooking stir in the prawns and leave it on warm for 10 minutes. Make sure everything, especially the prawns, is cooked through before eating and follow this recipe at your own risk, it's how I cook it but I take no responsibility for anyone else's results following it!)

Works perfectly. Good buy.
Love this little machine. Colour is actually more blue than green in my opinion.Used straight away to cook some basmati rice with some frozen peas and sweetcorn on top. Cooked perfectly.Extremely Easy to use with rice cup and markings inside bowl. Looking forward to trying other things eg. Omelette and cakes.I've never had a problem cooking rice by the absorption method so didn't see the benefit of a rice cooker but actually I'm impressed. It also frees up a hob ring and turns itself to warm when done so no risk of forgetting and ruining/ burning. It's also small enough to fit in a kitchen cupboard. Not that it needs hiding away.I was actually buying this for my son for uni later this year but I'm so impressed I'm going to keep it for myself and buy him another.

Unfamiliar name but easy to use and cooks very good rice
The brand name put me off at first, but then I realised that Macook is from South Korea, where they should know something about how to cook rice! So I bought it. It was a replacement for a Crock Pot rice cooker that just stopped working one day. It was hard to find a replacement the same small size (0.6 litre). We're a family of three, so this size is more than enough for us, and good because we have limited space. Most other rice cookers are enormous.Measuring the right amounts of rice and water is very easy thanks to markings on the measuring cup and on the inside of the cooking bowl. The controls could not be simpler. Just a big switch/paddle to flick it 'on' which pops back up in about 15 mins when the rice is done. A green light also comes on plus the cooker keeps the rice warm until you completely switch off the device. We've only cooked basmati rice so far (three times, so it is early days). It's been perfect every time. Rice would stick to the sides of our old rice cooker's bowl when it was cooked, but it doesn't with this Macook one: its non-stick surface is very effective. The rice just glides out. Highly recommended.

No more stodgy rice
Rice can be cook in a pan of water, but it can also be undercooked or overcooked. It can be stodgy or nice and flakes.Well this little gadget takes the guess work out and produces perfect rice each item and when not in use sits neatly in the cupboard not taking up too much space. Not essential but nice to have.

Its Okay makes great Porridge No Recipe Book included :(
I bought this because the pictures looked amazing, it cooks rice, vegetables, oats sings and dances well it doesn't may be it should be four star. But at 19.99 it was the most reasonable and it cooks lovely porridge, rice pudding. It did flip from cook to warm when I wasn't looking pleased about that.NO COOK BOOK honestly you would think they could have at least provided a cook book or a link to a page where they have recipes. I am sure it cooks vegetables fine, but so does a pan.No it doesn't sing or dance, it doesn't have a timer, make sure you turn it off at the wall and its off because it won't turn off.It gets hot, the pan is metal so it heats up fast and please use a cloth towel to hold it. Cleans well, don't use abrasives.40g of Oats to 200ml of Liquid 6 minutes porridge.40g Rice to 200ml of Liquid 20 - 30 minutes watch constantly, you can add vegetables and herbs, thyme, oregano, spices to taste40g Pudding Rice to 50/50 milk water about 200ml, a little honey about 15ml, a little nob of butter, about 20 -30 minutes creamy or al dente rice pudding, its nice with fruit40g of Rice to 200ml of liquid I added two eggs and you might need water too, because you get your rice soft first, then add the egg liquid its too much for one person.Have not tried noodles, but it should be okay.I don't know if you can melt cheese in this thing?

I LOVE my rice cooker.
I am an awful cook, and rice is impossible for me. So with January starting and I’m trying to eat healthier but also trying to make it easy as possible for myself, I thought I’d get a rice cooker. This was not my first choice but I’m glad I came across it. The colour is beautiful (I got green) and it makes perfect rice in like 15 minutes (it may be less) but when it’s done, it goes straight onto warm mode to keep the rice warm until the timer for the rest of my food goes off. GREAT VALUE, EASY TO CLEAN and light enough to move around.
