Educational Insights Light-Up Tracing Center

This is a very engaging, sturdy little sand writing unit. I am pretty amazed by how much my kids actually like this silly little thing, but they do. The like it much more than a plain tray with sand. I might buy another. The red sand is messy, but for the high engagement, I do not mind. Anything to get them WANTING to practice writing letters.

This is a great learning tool for students. It was a perfect way to practice writing letters and numbers. It is great for at home practice and classroom practice. Sand was easy to keep in box. Light was a fun addition that made my son more excited to practice.

As a pediatric OT this is a great multisensory tool for letter and number writing. The numbered line strokes are helpful for teaching accurate letter formation. Can use the tool for drawing or fingers. When I purchased I didn’t look close enough to see the sand is not contained, so beware of the mess. One star off because it is hard to balance enough sand to cover the light and not too much sand where the tool doesn’t adequately reveal light when drawing. Picture attached to explain.

... I should've listed to the other reviews about how messy it could get. I really thought I was doing something by thinking I could put it into a trofast/sensory bin. My kid is not big on throwing things or being messy but sometimes if he brought the stylus up or move it round too fast (I didn't use the whole bag of sand- just about how ever amount they recommended) the sand would just get every where. I had high hopes for the light feature to shine through the sand and it did but then we had to do this in a almost dark area of the house to see the light. The only thing I loved about it is the cards. Very clear instructions on which direction to write, and the images all made sense to correspond to the letter/number. Kid was somewhat interested but didn't hold his attention long.

My students love this light up letter tray. They were so excited to write the letters in the sand, and I identify the letter that they wrote in the sand. I would definitely recommend this product.

Love this sand writing! My preschoolers enjoy the light as an added bonus. Perfect amount of sand, but do like to change the colors out for variety. Great quality and ease of use!

Make sure to READ the specifics this is DUMB! Comes with sand in a pouch, you have to pour out onto the lighted tray and it doesn’t work! They give you this tool to use and it doesn’t work! I thought maybe I used too much sand so I took some out and no matter how much I took out it just doesn’t work like it shows!! Unfortunately I bought this a few months before Christmas so I can’t return it. Just a heads up before you waste your money!!

Fun to play with! The first time my daughter showed interest in writing

Just what I wanted, delivery as expected

Good for kid

While it's fun, beware it's non-sticky sand. And you can't expect toddlers to not make a mess. And sand is notably impossible to get ride of in houses with hardwood. Buy to use on patio or outside living rooms.
