Cannot write on it
The material is such that you cannot write on it. The whole point is that we can write either with chalk as the base is black .. with this you cannot. I tried a bright neon sort of marker, couldn’t as the surface has some slippery plastic coating ( not removable) Despite being such an expensive product it is useless.

Love this!
Love this for my first grader. I had one for him when he started kindergarten and unfortunately lost it in a move. Luckily the price is super affordable and definitely worth buying again! Chalk markers make it super easy to write on and look nice. I feel like it will last us multiple years as long as I keep it up and away from the kids.
