Bought as present for my 12-year-old granddaughter she has yet to receive it.I am sure she will enjoy it as she is very into her baking.

Most of all this book really made me want to bake! Which I think is fantastic as this is aimed at younger readers hopefully this will get them wanting to bake too! There's even a recipe including in this book which I can't wait to try.While on the whole this book seems quite light it does go into some deeper topics and I thought this made everything more real and there were a couple of important messages throughout the book!I enjoyed all the characters and would go ahead and read the sequel!

This book has everything - a shy teenager, a barmy mother, friendships, positivity and lots of baking. The story of Scarlett and her friends coming together as a group is uplifting and there's a infectious cheerful tone to the proceedings.What I very much admired about the book was it's lack of cynasism. The characters overcome obstacles and come together in moments of kindness. There is genuine heart and wonderful spirit here, something that I find can be lacking in a lot of young adult writing. The message here is you can achieve great things and make lives better by learning new things and making new friends.A real treat of a story: cupcakes for the soul.

I read this book in 1 day, I fell in love with all the characters including the unlikable ones. It has made me want to start cooking and baking. Keep your tissues ready, there are times you smile, laugh and yes cry. I will be waiting for the next book from this author thank you for a lovely book thoroughly enjoyable.

Lovely book, my 10 year old daughter whipped through it and read out chapters to the whole family. Can't wait for the next in the series!
