Definately a fun item that brings back memories! Not the best scooper BUT does what it says it does. By the way, the box says "Hand Wash Only".

If you let the ice cream soften a little, it works pretty good, but the handle bumps into the sides of the container. It’s also a little tricky to wash. Still it’s satisfies that nostalgia for when I was a kid.

For hard ice cream

Easy to use and provides a decent sized scoop. It can be challenging to use in super hard or super soft ice cream.

I like it a lot, however, the new smaller round cartons of ice cream (darned downsizing!) are too small to get the utensil down into the second row of scoops!

Maybe I am not using it correctly, but I might as well use a spoon rather than have bought this useless gadget reminiscent of my childhood. I used to get ice cream at Woolworth’s that was cylinder shaped when you got it on a cone. This scoop was hard to use and you had to pack the ice cream in the with a spoon and help it out. Don’t waste your money!
