Great Kit
Just disclaimer this model kit does not come with LED lights. These pictures are from a custom build I did . This kit was a treat to build. My only disappointment with this one is a plastic does feel kinda cheap.

Solid kit, great detail.
Seems like this kit and the Vic Viper kit get a lot of undue disrespect. There are some issues with it, but overall, it's a good build with excellent detail work for as few pieces as there are. Some basics first:If you're coming into this kit thinking it's a colorful snap together kit like a Kotobukiya or Gundam kit, I have bad news for you - it's three tone plastic: light grey, dark grey, and some blue accents. None of the colors are necessarily impressive, and it requires paint. It comes with no stickers and no decals - every detail has to be painted on either by airbrush or by standard brush. You don't have to be a professional to get really good looking results - this kit was my third painted kit and it came out looking really great - I would attach pictures but as of writing this review, the decal painting is still not done.Other reviews are correct in stating that some pieces fit very loosely. Even after priming and painting (which adds the smallest bit of extra volume) some pieces are very loose and do require glue to keep them in place. Fortunately, the kit has no moving parts, so with a precision applicator, gluing should be no problem. Conversely, some pieces are such a tight fit that even one layer of primer makes them barely fit. It's all completely up in the air, but that's an issue I've had even with some Master Grade Gundams. Finally, the instructions are a bit different than usual. The manual folds out instead of being bound by staples like a book, so it takes up a lot of real estate. It's very hard to have it on hand when you're assembling, painting, gluing, etc. The steps are presented as modules, and I found it very easy to miss a step here and there and have to either take pieces back apart to right my wrong, or do a little... "custom" work to get things where they belong.Overall, I'm super stoked to have this kit proudly displayed. It has some run of the mill issues, but a steady hand and iron resolve will give you a quality piece to be proud of.

Really disappointed with the quality of this kit once finished
Really disappointed with the quality of this kit once finished. Pieces do not lock together tightly, coloring is WAY off, and it feels extremely cheap.

Those snap together without any effort and the layering used gives a fantastic amount of detail
A little disappointing after grabbing some of the Bandai Dragon Ball Z models. Those snap together without any effort and the layering used gives a fantastic amount of detail. This one NEEDS glue to hold together as plenty of the pieces are just way too loose. Additionally the pictures shown here are of a fully painted model. The actual model is very plain, basic colors on a kind of glossy and cheap plastic. It really requires paint to look anything like the pictures (pretty much all the blue and red seen is not there), and not even a simple paint job (for example, the force orb shown in the pictures is a nice hazy yellow. In reality it is a fairly bright orange that looks like something out of a $0.25 gumball machine)

An R-9A model kit to fight the evil Bydo Empire
Being a big fan of the old school shooters days of R-TYPE I was very, VERY happy to come across this kit. After looking around, this is the ONLY model kit there is for this ship. And.... it's not bad really. I really like the end results, after doing a little paint here and there.Good>It's the R-9 and it comes with it's force unitGREAT size / It's 1/100 scale and it has detail and panel linesStands for both units and can display them separately if you wish to just look at the shipParts fit together and plastic is just fineThe not so good>No decals/ stickers which is not that big a deal reallyYou will need to paint this kit/ The black base is really a translucent purple, not black/ all the black and reds have to be painted/ the only things that are blue is the thrusters. The rest has to be painted. The kit comes in 5 colors/ the translucent purple for the stands and cockpit/ a darker grey for the inner part of the ship and cockpit/ a medium grey for the top and outer left and right/ and lighter grey making up the main inner ship and bottom which also seems to be a little softer plastic than the rest. There is also the inner force unit but it's not as clear orange that the pictures so.All in all, it's a good kit. The parts all fit and are casted very will. It does need a little paint and glue but you can make it look great. Though a straight build is not really recommended. But what it is, and that this is the only kit out there for this ship, it's great. If you love the R-Type series and want something a little different, this is a good one.

Looks legit.
Looks and feels legit enough. Didn't expect too many R-Type final kits left around. This not a gunpla product so be aware you must paint it yourself.
