Kinivo 301BN 3-Port High Speed HDMI Switch 4K 30Hz

I've had a couple of cheap £10 switch boxes before, bought from a local cheapo shop and ebay. Both had mechanical buttons and both failed to work properly after 3 months. This little thing is smaller then both of those, has no mechanical buttons and comes with a remote. The build quality is very good and sturdy, the only drawback in some ways is that it requires its own power supply. In some ways I think that may be why it works so well.My setup is a 23" 1080p IPS231 LG monitor that has no HDMI input and only one DVI port, so I use a DVI to HDMI cable to plug the monitor into the Kinivo. Obviously DVI does not provide sound but I have speakers setup and I mainly use a wireless headphone setup for most of my gaming needs. I have a PS3, Xbox 360 and a PC plugged into the Kinivo.It has a very nice feature by which it can detect if active HDMI's have been connected, it will then display on the front which ports have an active HDMI running. Either a red light for the ones you're not viewing or a blue light for the one you are viewing. It is nice that I can be using the PC then switch on the Xbox and it automatically switches to it. Unfortunately the PS3 seems to have an active HDMI even in standby mode so you don't get this feature with a PS3, you are forced to exert some energy and actually use the remote.If you're looking for something like his then I can't recommend it enough. I was lucky to purchase this when it was just under £11 currently it sits at £18.99. Even so the extra £8 compared to the cheap rubbish out there this is well worth it. A real ***** product for me.

I purchased this product to (effectively) expand the number of HDMI sockets on my TV (even a new Panasonic upmarket product only has 3!) I was reluctant to buy any of the 'unpowered' switches which rely on power supplied by the Blu-ray player (or other HDMI source). The amount of power required by these switches is rarely stated and, even if it were, the power available from the HDMI source is even less likely to be known - creating an opportunity to damage the HDMI multi-media source. Fortunately, there are a number of powered HDMI switches which use separate power units embodied in the mains plug - the Kinivo 301BN is one such.The 301BN is a 3 input one output HDMI switch which is solidly built and comes with a remote control to enable users to select a particular HDMI source device. It is supplied with a short but very helpful instruction booklet. Specific media inputs may be selected in two ways (a) Automatic Input selection or (b) Input selection via Remote Control. When operating in Mode (a), the switch searches for a signal from input port 1 to input port 3, stopping when it finds its first active HDMI port.As others have observed, even though a DVD player or other media source may be switched off, it is often the case that their HDMI ports ARE ACTIVE in this state. It is therefore useful to plug the media sources into the powered up switch and (using the 'active port' LEDs on this switch) determine which sources are 'Active' in their powered off state! These sources should then be connected, starting with the highest numbered port, leaving devices whose ports are in-active in the off state to be searched first by the switch. Failure to do this will mean that the automatic input selection can stop on a source which has no media output present! In this situation, the desired active source may quickly be connected using the supplied remote control.In operation, the switch has worked perfectly, with no perceptible degradation in video quality when routed via the switch. Some other reviewers have noted that the LEDs are very bright, but in my opinion, the only time they are likely to be a distraction is when the media content is Election Broadcasts! In summary, the product is well made, and does what it says on the tin.

I bought this product to help with the ever increasing number of tech I have plugged into my TV. I had been looking for a suitable and efficient HDMI switch for a few months now and couldn't settle on one which I thought was best suited for my needs. Should I get a 3 in 1 or a 5 in 1? I finally settled on this item, the Kinivo HDMI switch.It outputs 3D, 1080 HD and has no lag whatsoever. The set up is pretty simple, plug the main source hdmi into the out socket and then whatever secondary devices you want to connect into one of the three in sockets.The only down side I could find is the lights on the front of the switch unit. They are a bit too bright for my liking. I would have liked them to be a little more subtle or have an option to reduce how bright they are or perhaps reduce the brightness altogether in the unit. The good thing I have found is that it can automatically switch HDMI to the relevant device without the need of the remote. This means it can be placed out of site. I have mine behind the TV stuck on the mount which holds my TV up but due to the brightness of the lights on the unit, they can still be seen when the main room lights are switched off or dimmed. It's not a major issue really but something I thought should be pointed out. Of course you can still use the remote but you'll need to place the unit so that the ir signal can be reached between the unit and the remote. The remote is small and easy to use. Nothing complicated at all.All in all though, I like this unit. It's not too big and intrusive and does what it is supposed to do without any problems. I would recommend getting shorter HDMI cables to help with cluttered cable.A great purchase for me and great price too!

I had initially purchased 2 other HDMI splitters. I purchased the 3 port high speed HDMI is just amazing. I think this just works because it is externally powered and hence no interference. It is slightly expensive at £21.99, but you pay for quality. It auto-switches and detects inputs. When the devices are on standby, the input lights go off indicating that there is no input. When all inputs are off, it switches off the output signal as well and the output light also goes off.I don't write many reviews, but just had to write for this one!!!

Having tried two other hdmi switches,both of which were not the type with external power,I thought i'd give this one a try.I wanted to connect a sony ps3 & a ferguson hd combo satellite/dtt reciever to a sony bravia lcd tv with only one hdmi input socket.The other switches were not allowing the signal from the ferguson box to pass through.I'm very impressed with the delivery service from amazon,ordered it on sunday night and it was delivered early on wednesday morning (i live in ireland) using the super saver option.The unit is compact & modern looking with blue led lights on the front & comes with a slimline IR remote control.The power adapter has a 3 pin uk plug fitted,but it also comes with a 2 pin euro adapter.The packaging states that it supports 3D & 1080P,however I can't confirm this as my tv is neither.I had to order a hdmi cable for the output connection between the tv and the switch.It's very easy to setup and i was delighted to see a picture from the ferguson combo box when i turned on the tv.Turning on the ps3 auto-switches the picture,however it doesn't seem to auto-switch if the ps3 is powered on before the ferguson box,but i can use the remote to change back manually.This is the only minor gripe i have with the switch,which may not be an issue with other satellite recievers I hasten to add..I would highly recommend this switch and believe it's good valve for money.

This device drove me mad. Every time I touched a button on my TV's remote control this HDMI switch took it upon itself to change channels from whatever device I was watching to some other irrelevant and undesired setting. I tried messing around designating different devices for the various channels but to no avail, until one night I'd had enough and threw it across the room, whereupon it bounced off a door into the kitchen. At which point I really do have to pay tribute to the build quality which is is truly excellent - several hard stamps from a boot on a hard kitchen floor failed to destroy it. In fact it took several blows from a heavy bricklayers' lump hammer to finally put it away completely. I got the impression it would have lasted forever which makes me glad I got rid of it when I did. Life's too short to put up with dysfunctional devices like this one.By the way I've replaced it with an AUKEY bidirectional HDMI switch which has purely manual switching and stays resolutely on the channel you set it at – result!

I bought this having previously purchased the same equipment from Belken, which broke within 3 days of receiving and using. After viewing this and reading the reviews left and the description I decided to give it a try.It arrived quickly, well packaged and a great price too (the Belken was £40). As soon as you unpack this Kinivo product you feel the quality, a solid and we'll made casing with the various ports all snug in the openings. I connected my HDMI cables and switched it on, immediately the front lights that show which connections are used are illuminated in a neon blue with the one that's currently in use with a red neon light.They are bright and easy to see although some may want to hide the unit if they are using it in a bedroom (as I am) if they do find them distracting as they do illuminate the room a bit, however this doesn't bother me as I have lots of lights on my various technology already I'm used to ignoring.The remote it well made and clearly marked for use and it has a fantastic response and range. This really is an awesome piece of kit if you need to buy a HDMI Switch then I fully advise you to buy one of these!!!Superb stuff from purchasing to actually using this. This is ok but not great. Feels very cheaply built - the HDMI selector button on the unit is extremely hard to press - it is so difficult that on mine you can barely press it if you try. You have to use a lot of force as the button/switch is very cheap and nasty. The remote is also very cheap and nasty. The blue lights on the front of the unit are far too bright to be anywhere near your TV or home AV system especially if you like dimming your room when watching anything, and cannot be switched off/dimmed so this can be very distracting. In the middle of the night, my lounge is lit up by this device - it's far too bright. Most of the time the product works fine - however, if you switch your TV off for any reason and back on again, the device doesn't usually connect properly and there is no picture/sound. To remedy this every time you have to press the HDMI selector switch and reselect the device again - then it works.I bought this as the last HDMI switch I had refused to work with my SKY box. This one does work with the SKY box so that is something positive.When all of your plugged in devices are switched off, this device still lights up very brightly on the front which seems a pretty stupid design and must waste energy - it literally lights the entire room up. There is no power button on the unit to switch it off when not in use.UPDATE: The remote stopped working after a few weeks - terrible quality remote.

So I ordered this because 2 out of 3 HDMI ports on our Sony LCD were broken so a switch was needed. There are tons of el cheapo switches available but I wanted one that lasted and I bought this hoping it will do the trick.Pros- High quality plastics used- Has an IR remote- Memory function which remembers which port to select when it is turned on- button on the device itself to switch ports- No problems with the audio/video signal so far- Apparently it allows HDMI-CEC control for our home theatre even when it is not selected so that's great.!- LED indicators upfront power, output and inputs, the inputs connected but not selected turn redCons- The only major con as mentioned by other buyers is the big 15 Amp adapter provided so you need a converter to plug it into regular sized sockets.- One might find the LED indicators to be a little too bright but its not a big dealAmazon delivery is great as ever.!

Solución ideal si tienes varios dispositivos en el salón o en cualquier parte de casa y tan sólo tienes una o pocas entradas HDMI en el monitor, tv o proyector.Al ser autoalimentado, la pérdida de señal es apenas inapreciable (si nos ponemos sibaritas, y hacemos una medición de pérdida de calidad en la señal quizá saquemos conclusiones, pero para un uso normal y casero yo no he notado pérdida ninguna a simple vista). El mando es ligero, pequeño y delgado, con un diseño superminimalista justo con las funciones para lo que está diseñado.Hay un detalle que me encanta, y es que cuando enciendes un dispositivo enchufado a una de las entradas, se cambia la señal automaticamente. Por ejemplo, si tienes conectada la xbox y enciendes el tdt, el conmutador automáticamente cambia la señal al TDT. Es un pequeño detalle que rezuma comodidad, ya que ni te tienes que molestar en cambiar la señal con el mando.Yo lo tengo puesto a una xbox, a la gráfica de un pc y a un TDT HD para un proyector EPSON (para un monitor PC con una sola entrada HDMI es ideal también) y en un par de meses de uso va perfecto.Por poner algún pero, el alimentador es americano, pero viene con su adaptador europeo, tampoco es gran problema.Compra más que recomendable. El envío en perfecto estado y rapidísimo, como casi todo con Amazon.

Es muss jetzt nur mehr ein HDMI Kabel zum TV verlegt werden und alles andere ist im Schrank darunter versteckt, alleine dafür war es das Geld wert. Das Gerät an sich ist total simpel, funktioniert tadellos und gibt zb. HDMI-CEC Kommandos weiter. Der FireTV kann also den TV einschalten usw. Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen

Arrivé rapidement, impeccablement emballé.Mis en place en moins de 5 minutes, immédiatement fonctionnel.J'ai acheté ce produit parce que la télécommande de mon téléviseur est particulièrement pénible à utiliser pour changer de "source".Là, j'ai tout branché sur la même entrée (lecteur BlueRay, décodeur SFR HD, récepteur satellites HD) et je peux passer en un instant de l'un à l'autre grâce à la mini télécommande (j'ai apprécié que sa pile soit incluse).Aucun problème de compatibilité : les 3 sources donnent une image et un son impeccables.Penser cependant à avoir ou acheter un bon câble HDMI (HD et éventuellement compatible Ethernet) pour le relier au téléviseur.Très bon produit, je recommande !
