Adult Medieval Queen Costume - M

I was pleasantly surprised when I received this, this evening. Other customers had commented that this dress came up large and recommended buying a size down. However, although the bust area is larger than other sections, overall, I feel this was true to size (12-14, although maybe more of 14 perhaps). I'm 5ft 6 and it is long, but only the length I would expect of a medieval dress. I don't feel personally that it needs a petticoat underneath it, as it is a medieval style rather than 18th century for example, although others have commented that this can be added for a fuller effect. Hanging up the dress helped to help the creases fall out. This was bought for World Book Day 2023 and I felt it was a fair representation of a medieval dress, worn with a quiver of arrows, as Susan Pevensie from Narnia.

The sleeve is sewn incorrectly, so I have to wear it off-shoulder, and the headdress broke literally within seconds of putting it on my head. It's also a bit too big for me, and I'm a size 8. Still looks pretty nice though, and is good for a last minute costume

Absolutely beautiful dress, well made and comfy to wear. The material could do with a soak in fabric softener before use as the sleeves are rather stiff. The dress does come creased due to packing but these drop out quickly. The only thing I dislike about the dress is the fact the rear is not crushed velvet. It’s more of a nylon. This helps with movement but doesn’t look as appealing. The headdress is also a faff to put on especially if you have a small head but I used grips to hold it in place and it looked lovely once positioned correctly. The dress does come on the larger size so I’d advise getting a smaller size than normal.

Loved the dress but a little to big so could have gone size smaller. It was very long im 5.6inch so i simply tacked it up. I also tacked the sleeves back a bit to prevent them ending up in my meal on the night! I also added a gold rope tie belt as i felt it looked better and my own crown.

Lots of compliments on this dress when I wore it to a medieval themed meal! The only thing I would say is that the sizes are bigger than stayed - I measured myself and came out as a large using the hip waist and bust measurements provided, but when it came it was much too big and I had to order a medium, which fit perfectly. Please sort out your size guide!

Good quality for the price. The fabric is fairly heavy and the fit is ok. I am a size 14 and got the dress in medium (12-14) having read other reviews. . I could have done with a bit more room round the waist, but I am altering the top to fit better as it is a little wide here - so a size up would not be suitable. At 5'2", I am also taking up the hem 4 inches. I am wearing it with a heavy petticoat to make the skirt fuller - it makes a big difference to how the quality feels. Overall, a great product as long as you don't need something to look authentic (its very man made!).

Really nice quality, heavy fabric. Should have gone down a size or two as it was quite large. Biggest draw back was that when it arrived there were 2 large holes along the seem in the arm which I had to sew up myself, I would have sent it back but I wouldn’t of had time to get another costume. If it wasn’t for the holes It would be 5 stars
