I have been a sonos customer for over 8 yrs now and have purchased a pair of ones & fives, beam & ray, the amp & gen 3 sub, now the mini sub too. I still own and use Cambridge audio with Monitor audio also. I use Sonos purly as a convenient option and everyone at home has access to listen to music as and when they like. The mini Sub is good when paired with the ones or beam 2. For a room size of 600sqft. You can set the frequency level based on your preference. Sound quality

I am a bit of an audiophile. Meaning I own many speakers and pride myself on being able to tell which is good and which is not. I have now owned my Sonos Beam 2 for about 30 months or 2 and a half years. I read a lot before buying a sub mini. I was inclined to go for the sonos 3 or 4 subwoofer but they cost a lot. I read sonos sub mini will be ideal for a room like mine. A few things I have noticed. I am going to include my observations, the good and the bad in these things to help you decide whether you really need this additional speaker. My room is a living room with a 65 inch sony. Recently I got a mount for my sonos beam 2. This has somehow made my sonos beam 2 not as loud and effective as it used to be. There was a 15% difference in impact with the beam 2 mounted. I found a good price during sale and Purchased the sonos sub mini... 1. The sonos sub mini is not mini. It is a large pack and the speaker comes in a nice big packaging. The build quality is remarkable. I dare say the build quality of this particular variant is as good or better than that of the Beam 2. But in terms of looks, this looks like a good addition to most rooms. I have placed mine on the sofa arm for now. If I have a guest I will place it on the floor behind the 2 sofas. 2. The setup process is cumbersome. It took me 20 minutes. I am of above average knowhow. I own iPhones but it finally allowed me to add this. The app is very confusing to setup. Also it did not allow me to adjust the sonos sub mini individually for room trusound. Per online gospel I can do this but I have not bothered to figure out how. It's tough, not easy. So app handling is not the smoothest. 3. No noticeable difference. I feel my sonos beam 2 is much louder than before and the bass is entirely and evenly but very saliently handled by this new induction. however , there is little or no noticeable change in overall peformance so far except in being louder and more room filling. 4. The bass speaker is so minimal at its work that even if you look at it ; it seems very dormant. This is a good thing I guess but it's tough to experience what it's doing. If you keep a glass on top of the device it probably wont even shake the contents of the device. 5. I have seen one film and it was way too boomy at times. but overall I am happy with it. I think most products by Sonos grow on you with time and this is no exception. 6. What am I missing with this speaker? I wish there was a nob for me to control the bass and treble. I have read there is a way to control it but I have not bothered with it yet. Let us talk about the differences I have seen... 1. While watching cricket , it's louder and more room filling without being desperate. 2. While watching YouTube videos the room sounds louder but not necessarily pleasant 3. In films, I notice more boom, especially action films but not so insane. 4. Are dialogues cleaner? yes and no. I am undecided. I will update in one year.
