TevaWomen's Hurricane XLT 2 Ampsole Sandal

Best last minute purchase decision!These were my only pair of shoes that I packed for two month trip and they were fantastic and comfortable. There are three different areas on the shoes to adjust to make them comfortable for you. The fit is great!I never had a problem with them and were able to wash them and dry them in one day.Because of the thick sole, it took a few moments to get used to it, but they went in water , hiking .. everywhere all over Thailand, Tokyo, Paris and NYC! , Because they were a neutral sesame color, I was able to wear with everything , even with dresses out to dinner. I felt put together, even though I was wearing Tevas! So I didn’t have to take any other shoes. These things went on and off constantly because I was in Thailand and going into places that I had to take my shoes off constantly with ease. I wore socks with them on planes.We walked up and down the Basilica on MontMart in Paris and down subways across mountains.. even a cat sat on them;)My poor daughters Pumas fell apart part way through our trip& my Tevas kept rocking!I got several compliments on them.. not that they are dainty or beautiful or anything, but the style was just fresh enough and new that a few people commented that they were cute. They are easy to clean and very well made!

Writting this review after having these for 7months. Unfortunately today was their last straw. After taking them on several hikes (some over 16miles long in Tahoe) and several uses in the ocean (incuding a trip to BoraBora and several to Mexico beaches). Main take away, the rubber sole and the straps remain strong, unfortunately the adhesive on the back strap on one of the shoes has snapped off.This said I’m buying another set!This shoe is absolutely the best for travel! You can dress it up with a dress or you can use it on your beach day. The strap has a great cushion on the back to prevent any irritation.

Got this product today and love it. Lived up to expectations. Fits my high instep and is extraordinarily comfortable. Highly recommended. However, I have since seen another purchaser saying that she had bought one size larger than her normal shoe size. Having now worn the sandal, I think that might be good advice.

I freaking love these sandals. I have orthopedic inserts for my shoes. I brought a link to these sandals to my podiatrist and asked if she thought these would work for me and she said I should try them. When they showed up at my house, I took them out of the box and put them on to wear them around the house for a little while to see how they felt. But the next thing I knew, the garbage truck came and I had not put the garbage out which then sent me running through my house to every bedroom and bathroom, up and down stairs, out to the end of my driveway and back three times to get the garbage out before the truck actually got to my house. The fact that I did not sprain my ankle and that my feet did not hurt while doing that is absolutely amazing. Since I already had them on, I wore them all day long and they didn’t bother me at all. I usually have to break shoes in over the course of several days before they feel comfortable for me and these I could wear it straight out of the box. I didn’t have any red marks. I didn’t have any sore spots. I’ve just been wearing these sandals with no problems this whole summer. I brought the sandals into my podiatrist so she could check them out and she was very impressed with how firm and stable the soles were and how wide the base was. These are absolutely wonderful for me and I’m so glad I bought them.

I really wanted to love these. I walked all over Europe in the leather mid forms without breaking them in. Most comfortable shoes ever. I thought these ampsoles would be the same, but even sturdier with more traction for hiking. I was wrong.I’m a size 9 in Teva’s.. Been wearing them for years. I bought a 9 in this ampsole , and they fit perfectly. However, I realized, after wearing them outside that my toes slide forward when walking more than 10 or 20 feet. There is a ridge at the edge of the sole that my toes brush up against and it is very irritating.. Sometimes my toes even slide over the edge. This doesn’t happen in other Teva styles. I don’t know what the problem is with this one. Other reviewers have had the same problem. The shoe itself is comfortable enough, although way more stiff, and have a heavier weight than the midforms that I love. The only way to prevent my foot from sliding is to tighten the straps so tightly that it cuts off my circulation and my foot goes numb.It’s too late for me to return these. I guess I’m stuck wearing them as beach shoes. Expensive beach shoes. Disappointed.Update: I’ve been wearing these here and there running errands, and around my house, just to see if they get any better. The straps, which are quite stiff, have started to soften up and mold to the shape of my foot. This seems to be helping the foot sliding forward issue. They are still not as comfortable as my midforms, but they have a great tread that I know would be good for hiking, so I expect some stiffness. My feet are getting used to them, and I’m going to start wearing them for longer periods and see how they do. Upgrading my rating to three stars.Also, I have a narrow foot and had to pull the straps pretty tight. I hate the look of them hanging over. So I cut them with a fabric scissor and then lightly melted the ends with a lighter (Synthetic fibers will melt, not burn, And the melting prevents fraying.) They look so much better.UPDATE: March 2025. These are now my everyday shoes. I have even walked several miles in them for exercise with no blisters. I live in a hot climate and I love to walk, so I prefer to wear open toed shoes sometimes. The straps have softened to the point where I don’t even realize I’m wearing them anymore. Upgrading to 4 stars. If you really like them, and they are a little stiff, just give it time. They will break in.

I have gotten so many compliments on these. Very comfortable, water resistant and great style. The only thing negative I could say is because my feet are very narrow so to get the shoes to fit i have the pull the straps so tight that a considerable amount of the strap is hanging off.
