ConairMan Battery-Powered Ear/Nose Trimmer Detailer & Shaver

I bought this as a replacement item & found it superior to my earlier unit. Unlike other units I've used, this dies no appear to collect trimings. But, it appears to grind them into almost a dust. The head of the ear/nose trimmer is angled such that a rotating motion appear to catch even the shortest stubble and trimming it flush.The alternate trim head is a plus for fine work where needed. However, I have mixed feelings about the effectiveness of the shaver head as I'm not convinced much enters into the tiny holes in the head.

I’ve been using nose trimmers for a long time. About 25 years ago I owned a Panasonic ER115, and in 2013 I bought a Panasonic ER430K. I was very happy with both of them. The ER430K’s vacuum feature was especially useful because it made cleanup almost effortless, while the ER115 was compact, simple, and very reliable.When my ER430K finally stopped working, I started looking for a replacement and came across this Conair PG1000. To be honest, I didn’t even read the reviews before buying it. What immediately caught my attention was the blade design. It looked like it would be able to reach areas inside the nose that traditional rotary trimmers often miss.After using it, I can say that my first impression was correct. The trimming performance is excellent, especially in those hard-to-reach spots. I’m a tall person, so the inside of my nose is often more visible to others than it is for most people. After using this trimmer, I actually found myself thinking about how much nose hair I had probably missed over the years with previous trimmers. The result was noticeably cleaner than I expected.I was also pleasantly surprised by the build quality. The drive mechanism connecting to the motor appears to be made of brass or another high-quality metal rather than cheap plastic. The blade assembly and protective guard feel well made and durable. The overall design is slim, elegant, and modern. Unlike some of Panasonic’s newer models, it doesn’t feel bulky or oversized.My only concern so far is maintenance. The product looks like it could handle water, but the manual clearly states not to expose it to water. That leaves me wondering about the best way to clean and lubricate the blades over the long term.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. As someone who has used both the Panasonic ER115 and Panasonic ER430K for many years, I can confidently recommend the Conair PG1000. It provides an exceptionally clean trim, reaches difficult areas very well, and feels like a quality product.

Clean cutting nose hair trimmer. Gets in the tightest places. Overall very good however, it’s very noisy and sounds like it’s going to fall apart while using.

Had this same one for a while before it started going bad. This is hands down the best nose trimmer. Would be nice if it was rechargeable, but battery seems to last a while. I tried a regular trimmer and they don't work as well as this design. The extra attachment works great too.

I have owned several other nose hair trimmers and this one is far superior to those other ones including my last which was a Panasonic. The shape of the cutting head on this one provides a much better result. I would higly recommend this one. It is also small and packs into a travel dop kit well.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!As a woman, it's especially embarrassing to show nasal hair. For a number of years, I've used the most common single-bladed "nozzle" type trimmer. And every time, especially in the past few years, this type trimmer would do no more than an ok job and tended to nick my tender intranasal skin -- which would then bleed.Decided there HAD to be a better way. Lucked out finding a nozzle type trimmer with blades on 3 sides. Close shave w/next to no nicks. It got lost during a hospitalization and haven't been able to find another like it.Came to Amazon hoping I'd find a close substitute. This clever gadget was among the first items on my search results list. The price put me off, since I have no use for the shaver heads. But I re-read the reviews and decided to try it despite the price.I am thrilled with the results of using this trimmer. Extremely sharp and effective! No more having just a couple of hairs left standing. No pinching or nicking. I'd gotten particularly "fuzzy" in recent months, hormones I guess along w/not being willing to scrape raw the interior of my nose.No mirror even needed until you want to double-check... Very quick, no discomfort even in the little hollows inside and above my nostrils.I am so grateful that I found this little gem. It came with a battery that provided immediate, full power. I didn't bother reading the instruction booklet, but i made use of some of the comments in the reviews. There is no power "button." Instead, the very bottom of the wand has faint markings indicating off (O) and on (I): turn towards the (I) to get the thing running.First you will insert the battery, though. The battery compartment is accessed by turning the same end segment to the left, (◇). The negative or flat end of battery goes down, towards the business end of trimmer. The case is a little persnickety to get closed again so device can be turned on. Take a close look at the slightly raised areas on the inside of the cap and match to those on the wand. Press down and turn. After you do a couple of times, it's easy.Just to be sure I never *don't* have this nifty grooming necessity, I may buy another. Yes, it's that good.(I bought the regular AA battery model; I didn't want to have to find lithium batts in the future.)

After inserting a brand new, tested, battery, the unit would not turn on. After much fiddling with it, I concluded the contacts were not connecting. So, I tore off a super small piece of tinfoil and folded it over a couple of times. I carefully placed the tinfoil on the negative side of the battery and put it back together.Yep, it worked as it should. Take note: this thing does get hot. Quickly. No, it won't brand you but it will get uncomfortable after a while. After using it on (or should I say, in) my nose and ears it seemed to work perfectly. I had my wife inspected my ears and she saw no hair, even using a flashlight. I knew it remove the nose hairs far better than anything I have used in the past. As others have said, the container box is a light, cheesy thing. No big deal to me as my travel days are over. The designers and Quality Control needs to take a hard look at why the connections are loose. It's just a tiny bit but enough to keep it from working at all. Yes, you can pull up the spring wire a tiny bit and hope you don't screw it up completely.I've done just that several times over the years, but this wire is small enough that I chickened out. Sure, I could send it back and will if it gives me more trouble. It's obvious that these units are not checked before shipping. It's a very good product and deserves closer attention before shipping.

Best ear and nose trimmer I’ve ever used. Trimmer also good for trimming mustaches and beards.

I have been using Braun for a couple years, after first trying out my uncle's. I have always noticed that it had a harder time getting all the nose hairs, especially longer ones. So I tried the ConairMan just for comparison, seeing its design was different. I used Conair right after using the Braun, and Conair not only got hair missed by the Braun, but did it very quickly. To be fair my Braun is almost 2 years old so the blades are less sharp, but I remember this annoyance at it taking a longer time and missing some follicles for quite a while, so I think the difference is due to razor design

Works great, does the job

I'm not the type to often leave a review, but this time I feel like I have to... Because OMG, this product exceed all of my expectations. I have been using Philips products for years. They were okay, they did the job...kind of! Some hair was still missed, here and there. So I had to spend some time to make sure all is trimmed. Then my last Phillips trimmer broke down, and I thought to myself maybe it's time for a change. And I'm so glad I chose this one. Whoever invented the blades is a genius. They can cut all the hair. When I said all, I meant ALL OF THEM, nothing got left behind. The awesome part is that I didn't feel anything, no pain, no discomfort. Just a smooth and easy experience all over. 10/10!
