Excellent
My 5-yr old rechargeable Remington beard trimmer finally gave up the ghost so I was in the market for a replacement. A friend of mine actually searched for this for me and I was a bit dubious even though it had glowing reviews. I was dubious because it takes 2 x AAA batteries and therefore doesn't come with a recharging station etc. Anyway, I bought it on a punt...Well, I am very impressed. The build quality is great - light (unlike my old Remington), showerproof (even says so on the box) and I actually prefer that it uses batteries because previously when my rechargeable unit went flat you had to wait 16 hours for a recharge - and so skipping a day of trimming. With this I just use rechargeable AAA batteries. I have 4 - it takes 2 - so when they go flat I simply pop in the other charged pair and put the flat ones on charge. Brilliant. Also far better for travelling as batteries are available everywhere and no need for a power point.Cuts well without snagging and is an all-round good product. Just buy it, you won't regret it.

Fantastic Trimmer
I had about 1-1.5cm of growth on my beard and after constant nagging I decided to get rid of it. This happens every 3-4 weeks. Usually I would wet shave but it is very difficult to get rid of so much hair and an hour later you are still there. This little trimmer was excellent, it took all my beard off in less than 5 minutes (with the length guard removed) and did not pinch any hairs. I was initially concerned that I would pull hairs out as I have used similar products in the past and they have always snagged, but this little trimmer did exceptionally well.As for the manscaping I have to say that I was a little worried after an accident several years ago with a product called (Barber in a box - electric) which actually cut a flap out of my scrotum. Yes needless to say the other half was in tears of laughter but the pain was very acute. So previous experiences aside I thought lets have a go of this with the guard. Again no snagging, no pinching and very good overall result. So in short - good on the beard and probably good anywhere else you want to try it.

The only battery driven water proof shaver I could find
If you travel and you want to shave in the shower buy this. Note that the batteries you use should have a flat "bottom". I once bought a pack of batteries that had a little hole on the minus side but those would not make stable contact.

Does what it says on the box but...
Had this item for a few days now. It does the job reasonably well. I had a Philips VAC before but it died of natural causes. In comparison to Philips (which twice as expensive) I was slightly disappointed I must say. If you plan to keep your stubble on level say 1mm to 6 mm (as I do) it works fine. As other reviewers say - it's not a hair clipper. The longer the comb length the more frustrated you will get. Otherwise works fine on AAA batteries (you'll need 2 of them - and they are not included). Small bottle of oil and tiny brush for cleaning trimmer is included. Tried it wet and dry. Wet option - great stuff if you go for 1mm stubble.

Not great, leaves my beard really uneaven
Bought this trimmer as it had good reviews but it really doesn't work for me.I often leave my beard to become quite long before cutting and the feed mechanism in this trimmer really doesn't work for me. Even after spending twice as long trimming as with my previous razor I still have a load of long hairs left. It really just doesn't seem to pick up everything and I end up being left with a really uneven beard.

Does what it says on the box
I wanted a replacement for a Philips model I'd had for years but NOT a mains/rechargeable one. This one seemed ideal based on reviews I'd already read. It's smaller, lighter and much quieter than the other one and has the right guide length for my preferred beard length. I've not tried its 'washable' feature yet, just used the brush but oiling it now and again isn't a problem. The only reason I've not given it 5 stars is because it has a tendency to 'snag' the occasional hair when I use it without the guide for trimming the odd bristle.Works fine on rechargeable AAA batteries too but maybe not quite at full power.

Neat and unfussy
My old trimmer had to be replaced as the rechargeable battery had died. So this is a great improvement as it works on replaceable AAA batteries. It's also half the size and half the weight of the old one, so much better for carrying around in a toilet bag. And being able to rinse it under the tap is also a big advantage. On the down side, with a smaller cutting head, trimming takes a bit longer, and the lowest setting is still too long to give you that 'two day stubble' look, if that's what you want.

Do not buy unless you have a very short beard
Really poor beard trimmer. It only works ok if you want a short beard, anything longer and it doesn't work. Even then you need to pass over your beard several times, it takes so much longer than my 20year old Philips (sadly the guide broke after being dropped in the sink one too many times)I went for this as it was not a rechargeable battery one but took ordinary batteries.
