These headphones are so comfortable, they sound phenomenal, and the battery life is incredible. I’ve worn them for literal hours with no discomfort or fatigue. The cups go completely around your ears instead of squishing them like many of the significantly more expensive brands out there. My husband chose a pair of Beats for himself, and can’t wear them for more than an hour or so without discomfort. The adjustable noise cancelation works great, and their weight is insignificant, especially for how sturdy these are. Highly recommend!

I have spent years fighting to find a decent pair of bluetooth headphones since no phone manufacturer wants to make a decent phone with a jack anymore (which is endlessly stupid, but I digress). I have tried everything form fancy expensive Galaxy Buds to a myriad of budget options, and all have the same problems. Flawed connectivity, noticeably glitchy, slightly reduced sound quality. These finally fix it. The inclusion of an option to use a headphone jack on devices that let you is a great feature. Along with multipoint connect. They fit perfectly around my skinny neck (your mileage may very on that), so travel with them is a breeze. And for the sound quality, these are absolutely the best headphones for your money. I was loathe to go to overears full time because I like being able to take one out to hear my surroundings, and every noise passthrough I used before was sucky. (usually the outside noise obnoxiously trebley). Not with these. I actually go to concerts to listen with my headphones on because it actually makes the concerts sound better than with no headphones. Extremely convincing, near perfect noise passthrough. The app is easy to use and has a great selection of features: from custom EQs, to adjusting the noise pass through, to other various quality of life settings. The 3D adaptive sound feature is great, though a little tricky to set up at first, and noise cancellation is very good, though not the best in the world. The battery life is also almost unbelievable. I use these headphones a lot--sometimes all day--and I still only have to charge them once or twice a week. Multipoint connection is also a very nice plus if, say, I am working at my computer and still want to be able to answer phone calls hands-free. There are some minor flaws with them, though. First sometimes very low bassey notes from the outside world can trigger the speakers in them and give you very loud, deep popping noises. (E.g., this occasionally happens when I am riding in the car and hitting bumps in the road). Occasional outside sounds in passthrough through will sound muddled. Also the noise cancellation--while quite good--isn't perfect for every situation. Specifically, it has more trouble than, say, Bose headphones with loud, sudden sounds like fireworks. But for the money, it is still the best noise cancellation and passthrough system you can buy. Another (minor) complaint, though, is that the adaptive settings aren't always very great. It often thinks I am sitting and automatically turns on noise cancellation when I am very much driving or walking around town or once even ice skating--all situations where passthrough is crucial. And even if I am sitting, sometimes I really want passthrough on (like if I'm in a cafe), but it automatically tries to turn noise cancelling on annoyingly. Thankfully, it can be easily overridden in the app. These days, I usually just keep the adaptive sound setting off and adjust the settings to fit the situation but sometimes it will randomly go back to automatic/adaptive mode. My final and complaint is with the microphone for phone calls. Sometimes it works perfectly and the other line can hear my fine, sometimes all they can hear is background noise, sometimes they really can't hear me at all. I am not sure if it is some sort of firmware issue or if the microphone placement is just too far from my mouth, but for phone calls it can be a tad unreliable. When it works, which is around 75% of the time, it's perfectly good even though I have to talk a little louder than I normally would sometimes. But all those flaws aside, these are probably the best all-around headphones I have owned and for the $120 I paid for them it's a steal. They may be more expensive as I got them on sale, but I have used headphones multiple times the price that are poorer quality and less functional than these. I'd have paid upwards of twice the price for what I got.

Really impressed with these headphones. They’re lightweight and comfortable, and the noise canceling works great. Sound quality is clear, battery life is excellent, and I love being able to connect to two devices. Great value for the price!

Great sound quality and noise cancellation. These headphones deliver above their price point. The ear-cups are large enough to fit my ears inside so there is no pressure on the ears’ frame. This point is important for long wear with comfort during online meetings or prolonged use, like a long flight. The battery life is exceptionally strong and you can go all day, and longer, without the need to recharge. It can deliver up to 35 hours of battery life with Active Noise Canceling (ANC) turned on, and up to 50 hours with ANC turned off. The only reason I took away one star is the portability. The headphones do not fold and they don’t come with a case for protection. So Sony left it to the consumer who plans to use them outside home to manage how to protect the headphones. I luckily have a case that fit which I had bought for the previous model. Overall, I recommend these headphones and it’s a nice addition to my collection of Sony, Bose, Beats, Apple, and Sennheiser. Yes! I love headphones.

I can honestly say that these headphones are worth the investment. There are times when I still need to plug in my headphones with a 3.5mm cable, so I like that I can use them wired or wirelessly. When it comes to using them wirelessly with Bluetooth, they are amazing. You can connect the headphones to a single dedicated device or to two devices simultaneously. For me, that is such a great feature. I use the headphones to connect to my computer for work purposes, but they're also connected to my phone as well. The sound quality is the best I've ever gotten from a set of headphones. I've never experienced noise-cancelling audio as precise as this. And for the times when you don't need to totally cancel everything out, the ambient sound mode provides audio that is just as good. The Sony Sound Connect app you use with these headphones is designed to deliver the best possible sound. The equalizer function lets you control how you experience whatever you're listening to, offering options like bright, relaxed, vocal, speech, and bass boost. I use these headphones all day while I work, and they hold a consistent charge. I still have plenty of battery life left at the end of the day, but I usually plug them up to charge when I'm done with them. The volume control buttons on the headphones are easy to use. The only thing that can be frustrating at times is that the button to stop/start a song or move to the next track is right in the middle of the volume buttons, so I end up hitting it when I want to raise the volume. However, it is nice that they've also included a button on the headphones to toggle between noise-cancellation and ambient sound. Again, I use these for work, so I wear them for the majority of the day. They fit well and are comfortable to wear. As the day wears on, my ears do get a little warm from the cushions around the headset, but compared to how much I like using the headphones, it's a minor issue. The only other item of note is that, given the investment, it would be nice to include a storage box or bag. If you're on the fence about buying these headphones, I highly recommend them. They are worth the investment, and you'll be pleased with both the sound and design.

These Sony CH720 headphones are really good value. Decent noise cancelling and more rugged build than the 710 models. Pros: - Good noise cancelling for the price - Comfortable for long airplane or car rides - Solid sound and battery life - Much more affordable entry into Sony's noise cancelling lineup Cons: - No included case for travel (would be nice) - Not as premium as the much more expensive XM4 or XM5 models They work great for kids or anyone on a tight budget who wants decent ANC without breaking the bank. Nice stepping stone toward the higher end Sony headphones that do include a case. Would I recommend? Yes, strong value buy.

There are a lot of little things about these headphones that bug and annoy me. I'm going to be comparing these to the Soundcore Q30, which I purchased for $56 on sale, but have a full price of $86. The Sonys have a sale price of $90-100 and a full price of $150, so we'll say the Q30s are about half the price (because of the provided case). ***PROS*** LIGHTER WEIGHT: It's lighter than the Q30, weighing 192g vs the Q30's 268g. You may notice the difference in A-B testing, switching the headphones back and forth, but in regular usage, only the most sensitive heads will notice the weight reduction. ANC: It has slightly better ANC, although they are both quite comparable. The noise floor with ANC on is lower, and it reduces noise by a tiny fraction more. However, the performance is still quite similar. ***CONS*** NO CASE, NO FOLDING: The 720n doesn't come with a case, meaning you'd have to purchase a 3rd party one for around $15, adding to the overall cost. Since they can't fold to be more compact, the case you buy will also be larger than other headphone cases. Also, if you buy the white version, the cables are color mismatched (black cables). CUPS SWIVEL THE WRONG WAY: When wearing the headphones around your neck, the cups will swivel so that the cups are facing outwards. Most normal headphones will swivel cups down, which is better for 2 reasons. 1) The cushions rest against your body instead of the harder outer shell. 2) The drivers will be more protected from outside elements. I don't know why Sony made these headphones swivel that way when the majority of their other product swivel the right way (aside from the XM5). SLOW CONNECTION WHEN BOOTING: When booting up, the 720Ns can take up to 6-10 seconds to connect and pair to my phone (Fold 6). That is PAINFULLY slow. By comparison, the Q30s connect within 2 seconds (although the power button needs to be held for 5 seconds there). Shallow-ish earcups: You may have smaller ears, so it might not be an issue, but the peaks of my ears can rub against the hard part of the drivers if the headphones are not positioned correctly, which can be quite uncomfortable. Sound quality not to my taste: Sound signature preference may be very personal and subjective, but I wasn't the biggest fan of how these sound. I highly value clarity, and these headphones sound very... opposite of clear out of the box. I'm not very experienced with headphones vs IEMs or earbuds, so maybe that's just how headphones tend to sound? There is a decent amount of EQ tuning in Sony's app that helps mitigate this issue, but I didn't feel the need to tune the Q30s as much to enjoy their sound. ***CONCLUSION*** Overall, I don't think I would recommend these. The only unequivocal positive about these vs other headphones is the lighter weight. You should either spend half the money and get a product that can do 95% of the 720Ns without the annoying drawbacks, or you should save up an extra $50 to get the Sony ULT Wears which seems to do everything significantly better like sound quality and ANC. I've ordered the ULT Wears to try them out, and will update this review with a short comparison to them. It's a shame since I enjoy the lighter weight and slimmer form factor of not sticking out from your head as much. The ULT Wears fix basically all of the issues I had with the 720n. It comes with a high-quality, solid case. The cups swivel the correct way (inwards), but they also swivel 60-ish degrees outwards if wanted. It boots and connects much more quickly. The cups are deep enough that they don't have the hard drivers rubbing against my ear. It also comes with some other premium features like wear detection and touchpad controls.

Used this for few months and here is my take on it. Excellent for entry-level headphone over-the-ear. Buy it on sale. Great noise-canceling and nice bass. Super light, easy on the head, good range, long battery life - days on end before you need to recharge. Pleasant to walk around in. Easy to hang. Volume is moderate with a nice equalizer adjustable on the official app. This model is not a highend model so keep that in-mind. Few downsides - this is NOT waterproof. It is also NOT sweat proof meaning this is not ideal to workout in. The materials can be cleaned easily, but enough water/sweat can damage the headphones as others mentioned. Sometimes you want to move the headset from one area on your head to another to rebalance the comfort. It’s not a bad thing, but a tip for new users to take.

The Sony WH‑CH720N is impressively lightweight, perfect for long‑term use without any ear pain. I’ve tried other headphones before, but their heavy weight always caused discomfort — this one never does, which is why I bought it. The sound quality is excellent, especially when tuned through the app: strong bass, clear vocals, and great clarity for editing and all types of music. I definitely recommend it. Just handle it with care because the plastic material can break if not used cautiously.

Lemme explain stuff in paragraphs Coming from Boat Rockerz 551 ANC btw, and I'm going to base my review around the fact that I used to be a Boat Headphones user. Also, point to be mentioned, I got these for around Rs. 5800 (yes, I got lucky with the discounts 😂) 1. The sound quality: I'd say it's a pretty big leap, around 50-80% better sounding (depending on the type of music I'm listening to). The bass is good just like the Boat headphones, but unlike the boat headphones, these have better quality bass, like, the Sony doesn't create a stinging/uncomfortable feeling in bass heavy songs. Also unlike Boat Headphone, Sony do give care to mids and highs. Do not get distracted by the fact that the Sony headphone's driver size is 30 mm (compared to Boat's 40 mm). Driver quality also matters, and in this case, it matters more than the size of the drivers. 2. Battery life: 100 hours (Boat headphones) v/s 35 hours (Sony headphones)? Well, there's no comparison, but 35 hours isn't too low either. Good enough, especially when you consider the fact that weight of the Sony Headphones is much lighter than Boat Headphones. 3. Active Noise Cancellation: Well, this one is a mixed opinion. I expected Sony to have around 50% stronger ANC, but, it was quite similar (maybe slightly stronger? I'm not fully sure) to my Boat headphones. Not disappointed though, the quality of ANC (ie, the ANC algorithms) is much better on the Sony. What I mean to say is that you get a weird feeling of higher air pressure in the enclosed ear area (especially in the eardrums) when you turn on ANC on the Boat, but that doesn't seem to be the case on Sony. Not to mean that the anc is bad, if you listen to music at 20% volume and have anc turned on, then the fan sounds will disappear, which is good. 4. Durability: Though both are made of plastic, Sony has at least given some care to the headband area (by reinforcing it with metal). My Boat headphones literally broke within 4 months of use, forcing me to use Epoxy glue to make a temporary fix and use them till I saved up enough to buy this Sony headphone. 5. Comfort: These are comfortable to wear. Good cushioning. Not much pressure on the ears. Can wear for long durations without fatigue. 6. Mic quality: Well, everyone I talked to while wearing the Sony weren't able to distinguish whether I was using a Headphone's mic or my smartphone's mic. It's good and clear (they were able to notice slightly worse mic quality on the boat headphones though). 7. Latency: Don't buy if you want to do hardcore competitive gaming. And even if you do, use it in wired mode or else latency will be quite high and noticeable (I'm guessing around 400 ms latency) 8. Bluetooth connectivity Both had good connectivity. No issues from that side. No random disconnects or something else throughout my use until now. Multipoint connectivity works well. 9. App integration Really good feature. You can tune it to exactly how you want it to sound as long as you know what you're doing. If not, then here's my suggestion: play your fav music, scroll through the presets available, and select the one which suits you the best. Well, these are the points I wanted to highlight. Good headphones to choose at this price range. Final verdict: Good purchase for those who want really good audio quality, decently good ANC and the Sony brand sound optimisations. UPDATE: So, it's been 338 days since I wrote the review, time to update it now (date of update: September 3, 2026) Rant alert, if you want the review update about the product strictly, skip over the following paragraph: Firstly, I'd like to thank all those who liked my review. Did not expect it to blow up this much, ended up being one of the top liked review in India (seriously did not expect that 😂). During this time period, I switched away from Boat fully (trust once broken can never be repaired). Used to have Boat Immortal 141 earbuds before, switched to Realme Buds Air8 now (bought it at around Rs.3100), hence I will base the review of it as well, just like how I did with the Boat 551 ANC in the initial review. Some might think "Why do I have 2 different audio products??", to that, my answer is that I am the sort of person who uses both on the regular basis. Earbuds in college (basically, for when I need portability), headphones in hostel (when I need max comfort for multi-hour continious use). So, starting with the review update about the product, I will keep it in the same order as before, same numbering and stuff, for the reader's ease: NOTE/CAUTION: I do not know what the current competitors offer at the same price range, hence the review update will be solely based on my experience with the audio gear that I own personally. 1. Sound quality: Still really good, doesn't dissapoint at all. Just the best for the price at which I bought it. 2. Battery Life: Still gives me 5-6 (sometimes 7) days of usage on a full charge, and mind you, I use it for at least 3 hours, with about 4-5 hours on weekdays on average, and about 7-8 hours on weekends (sometimes more, sometimes less). Hence, as I mentioned, still good enough, not as insane as the Realme Buds Air8's total battery life (case + earbuds) or the old headphones I compared with, but still respectable for my use. 3. Active Noise Cancellation: Honestly, after trying Realme Buds Air8, I would say it's weak, as those earbuds do some serious noise cancellation. But considering the fact that it trades multi-hour usage comfort to achieve that, I would still choose the Sony Headphones everytime when in hostel. But when it comes to travelling on the train, I will choose the earbuds even for long usage hours. So basically, if you want best ANC and don't care about comfort, then just go get a pair of earbuds, you'll be way more satisfied with that than this. 4. Durability: Didn't dissappoint (at least not yet, hopefully doesn't for at least another 4-5 years). Yes, they could have used something other than plastic, but it's fine according to me. Regarding the earcup status, I have attached few images. Those are taken on the day of me writing this update. Honestly, still holding up good, no damage at all, even after one wash to remove sweat (more on that later in the next point). Hopefully the earcups lasts me for another 1.5 years at least. 5. Comfort: These are still very comfortable to wear, like seriously, trust me when I say that I can use these for 6 hours straight and not feel uncomfortable. But fair warning: If you live in a place where it's humid, then you will sweat inside the earcups area (after long usage) and will have to take them off for a while and let the area around the ears dry (or wipe them dry). I myself faced this issue, and the earcups started smelling sweaty, so had to wash them with Ezee once, after which the smell went away. Also, pro tip: dust/particles/random-debris might collect inside the earcup area, please check inside and clean it on a regular basis, otherwise it will bounce around when you wear the headphone, into your ears and such, causing itching/irritation (yes, I am talking from experience on this one 🥀). WARNING: DO NOT DIP THE ENTIRE HEADPHONE INSIDE EZEE WASH SOLUTION (I seriously hope no one had this insane idea, but I shall add this anyyways). Remove just the earcups and wash those, do not wring it like how one does with clothes, be extremely gentle with it. Please research about it more if you plan on doing it. Do not do it randomly. Do not use a really strong concentration of ezee liquid (ie, a lot of it in very little water). Do it at your own risk. 6. Mic Quality: I would like to change the review from before on this one. Don't get me wrong, the mics are good, the audio that the other person hears is good and sounds like your real voice (and not the robot like voice), but in achieving that, the background noise also passes through to the other person. Ie, if you stand under the fan while talking to another person through phone call with the headphones on, he/she will be able to hear the sound of wind. I'd say that the Chinese audio products of the recent time nail the right spot on this one, like, when talking to someone on call with my Realme Buds Air8, the other person doesn't hear robot like voice, but the backgound noise seepage is also significantly lesser than the Sony Headphones. 7. Latency: Nothing to update, the thing I said before still stands. 8. Bluetooth connectivity: Nothing to update, the thing I said before still stands. 9. App integration: Recieved one software update for the headphones during this use period, didn't feel any difference, but yeah, still supported well ig. Nothing else to add. Final verdict: Still good to buy if you can get around Rs.6000, otherwise not really value for money. Definately don't go for it if it's above Rs.7000-7500, I think you will find some other better newer option at that price range.
