ORS Creme Relaxer Tin Regular Pack of 1 x 530 g

This is great relaxer. However it needs to used along side other products that are available in amazon.Relaxer works by breaking the bonds of hair to make it straight. This can make hair weak and dry. This can cause breakage. Protien treatments help. Try redken cat protiene treatment  spray leave in for 5 mins after washing ( a less complicated and time consuming version of aphologee  anti breakage treatments).Alway deep condition after protien treatments !!!! Try palmers olive oil conditioner.  At one point my  hair  broke off because.Afro hair + permenant hair dye + relaxer do not mix!I wanted to have copper blonde hair. ( As my hair was breaking of I began to  realise the key word there was 'hair').  I learnt the hard way not to relax and dye hair. I suggest growing your dyed hair  out before relaxing.I use Cantu grow strong  treatment  daily to help with breakage too.I don't use shampoo anymore even the afro ones dryer my hair out).  I only use pantene gold  conditioner + a silicon head scrubber  to ensure my scalp is clean. Then palmers olive oil conditioner ( I leave this on for an hour or over night) . In winter I wash my hair with conditioner once a week to stop it drying out.I find grease based products like blue magic before blow drying leads to burnt damaged hair. I recommend a hair dryer with afro comb attachment.  I use ogx renewing argon oil of morroco penetrating oil  and the cantu grow strong treatment to protect hair from heat.  All of this stuff is available on amazon.  I Try to do this in between relaxes. I leave 3 months between relaxes.  To wash the relaxer ( and the horrible smell) out of my hair I tried the following which I saw on YouTube.I use motions shea butter neutralising shampoo. ( it will be pink if relaxer is still present and clear when there's none)  I put the neutralising shampoo on and leave for  10 mins. Rinse repeat leave in 5 mins. Rinse repeat leaving for 10 mins. I use the neutralising shampoo on my body and around shower whilst washing out. I found the 10/5/10 worked great. My  hair dressers lathered then rinsed straight away. Not realising the packing often calls for a wait time before rinsing. And I always went home smelling of egg :(.AGAIN : All of the productsI'm mentioning are available on amazon.1. Coat hair ends Apart from new growth with visiting/ blue magic. Put vaseline / blue magic around hair line. Don't put vaseline on scalp It will stop relaxer working.READ THE INSTRUCTIONS2. Start applying relaxer to the part of your hair that takes longest to relax. For me it's the middle.  APPLY RELAXER TO THE FRONT LAST. YOUR HAIR IS THINNER THERE.The package is resealable so no need to do the last bit of the 'relaxer dump' on the front of your hair ( we've all been there)  Smooth hair after adding relaxer use rat tail comb and a dye brush to apply relaxer.Most I'mportantlyAs tempting as it is to re apply relaxer to  those  wavy parts of your hair from  last  semi-failed application of relaxerDO NOT RE-RELAX ANY PART OF YOUR HAIRIf your hair dresser does this ask them not to.  We will just need to wait till that bit grows out. In the mean time pay what you need to to get your hair trimmed properly.A lot of hair dressers who don't do afro hair will happily deal with relaxed hair. I find trimming stop breakage going up the hair and promotes growth.After relaxing and Wasing (10/5/10 )I apply redken cat treatment spray. Then pantene gold conditioner for 5 mins then rinse. Then palmer olive oil conditioner. I pat dry with a towel. I  apply loreal no hair cut cream + ogx oil + cantu . Use wide tooth comb then use paddle brush . I use  a hair dryer with afro attachment .I use ghds gold straigteners too. They heat up to 185 degree. Hair burns at 233 Degrees. many afro hair dryers / straighners  are above that. It take ten mins to straighten my hair(and now I don't burn it!).I  use spiral hair bands (also available on amazon) They don't dent or kink my hairwhich use to lead to more breakage.Application + smoothing + wait time in total was 25 mins. If  after everything your hair is not straight enough,  consider the next relaxer strength up. I think its coarse/super but  I suggest a lower application +wait time.Sorry this review is so long. I personally found it hard to find this information. This product works realy well but I find my afro hair need a bit more tlc from other products when it is relaxed.  It may be useless.  Hopefully it helps someone.Take care everyone :).

Great product. For everyone that left a bad review: read the instructions! If you have chemically treated hair it will fall out if you relax it, same thing if you don't neutralize it afterwards or if you leave it on for too long or if used on hair textures that can't handle it.

The product met my expectations. Left my hair soft and manageable.

i used this branded of relaxer before and never had a problem, so decided to buy the big tub to save as i do myself and my daughter, but this one just burns the minute it on, myself my daughters could not use waste of money will not buy again

Useful to have as this product is ready mixed. You save money. However, my roots need touching up every month. So perhaps the product is weak
