Review: THE set of strings for longer scale 8-string guitars: perfect gauge selection/tension, long-lasting, great sound. - THE set of strings for 8-string guitars. I personally don't think there's a better 8-string set for guitars with decently long scale length (at least 26.5" but preferably 28"+). On my Schector C-8 Deluxe with a 28" scale length, tuned to drop Eb (standard flat tuning with a dropped low string: Eb Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Bb eb). I've had these string on a while now and played them a lot and they still feel fresh and still sound bright and punchy. I don't sweat much but even the more 'biologically corrosive' people will notice a difference. They do feel slightly different than normal D'addarios, a little more rubbery but I stopped noticing after about 5 minutes enjoy them a lot. They are worth the extra money to me. Mostly because of the selected gauges but also the NYXL formula. Review: D'addario sponsor me! Lol - Really really good strings dont let the price put you off absolutely solid strings that sound great and that can handle most tunings without losing that tone. ## Features - PREMIUM GUITAR STRING - NYXLs are our premium uncoated electric strings, delivering unrivaled strength and tuning stability, plus enhanced mid-range. - CUT THROUGH THE MIX – The premium nickel-plated steel wrap wire used for NYXLs provides accentuated frequency response in the 1 - 3.5 kHz range, so you get more presence and crunch to cut through the mix. - STAYS IN TUNE, STRONGER STRING - Stays in tune 131% better than standard strings, while the NY Steel core wire makes them up to 40% stronger—bent two whole steps higher, NYXL strings are still at less than 75% of their breaking point. - EARN REWARD POINTS - NYXL strings come with a code which you can register to earn Players Circle points. - MADE IN THE USA – NYXL electric guitar strings are made in the USA—drawn to our exacting specifications at our New York production facility. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00YJJ0HQA | | Best Sellers Rank | 29 in Musical Instruments & DJ ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments & DJ ) 6 in Guitar Strings | | Body Material Type | Steel | | Brand | D'Addario | | Brand Name | D'Addario | | Coating Description | coated | | Coating description | coated | | Colour | Silver | | Country of Origin | USA | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 59 Reviews | | Finish Type | Uncoated | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00019954157999 | | Included Components | Guitar Strings | | Instrument | Electric Guitar | | Item Type Name | Electric Guitar Strings | | Item Weight | 0.13 Pounds | | Manufacturer | D'Addario Ltd | | Manufacturer Part Number | NYXL0980 | | Material Type | Steel | | Model Name | NYXL0980 | | Model Number | NYXL0980 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Electric Guitar | | Set Name | Super Light 8-String Set | | Sound Profile | Enhanced mid-range with more presence and crunch | | String Gauge | Super Light | | String Material Type | Nickel-Plated | | String gauge | Super Light | | String material type | Nickel-Plated | | UPC | 019954157999 | | Unit Count | 1 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** D'Addario - **Colour:** Silver - **Instrument:** Electric Guitar - **String gauge:** Super Light - **String material type:** Nickel-Plated ## Images ![D'Addario NYXL0980 Electric Guitar Strings, 8-String 09-80 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81M1qJcablL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Style** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THE set of strings for longer scale 8-string guitars: perfect gauge selection/tension, long-lasting, great sound. *by M***N on 11 May 2018* THE set of strings for 8-string guitars.
