I originally set out to buy cricket batting gloves, but the specific cricket brands I looked at were either unavailable in my size or priced far higher than I wanted to spend. That’s when I decided to try these Franklin Sports MLB Shok‑Sorb X batting gloves instead—and they’ve turned out to be a great choice for my soft ball cricket matches. From the first use, the grip stood out. The high‑performance genuine leather palms hold the bat firmly, even when playing in warmer weather or for long sessions. The Shok‑Sorb padding is a nice bonus, absorbing impact and reducing any sting from harder hits, which adds confidence when batting. Comfort is another highlight. The Tri‑Curve design fits the natural shape of the hand, meaning no awkward bunching or slipping inside the glove. The mesh vented back keeps airflow steady, so my hands stay cooler and drier compared to heavier, fully‑padded gloves. Quality‑wise, they feel well‑made with durable stitching and strong leather that hasn’t shown signs of tearing or stretching after repeated use. While I bought them for cricket, I can see these working just as well for baseball or softball, especially for players who want both grip and shock absorption. If I compare them to traditional cricket gloves, these are lighter, more breathable, and better for casual or soft ball play. For leather ball cricket, I might still prefer gloves with more finger protection, but for my current games they’re perfect. Add in the reasonable price, and they’ve quickly become my go‑to pair.

For me, these gloves feel weird where the shock pad is touching the bat because it is squishy, and it makes me feel less in control of the bat. These gloves are of nice quality, and I am keeping them as a backup pair. They are pretty thick, which helps absorb shock when hitting, but if you are hitting properly, there should not be much shock on the hands.

These gloves are very comfortable with good padding in the palm area. Fits securely and provides solid grip while hitting. I've only used them for about 2 or 3 months so far over maybe 20 or so games (slow-pitch softball) but so far the quality seems good. I don't expect much in the way of durability at this price as most cheaper gloves start tearing at various seams in a year or so, but if I get that much use out of them I'll consider it a good value.

These are great! You can't buy a better glove the price. They're a great value! They fit very well, look great, are comfortable, protect my hands, and are the right thickness of leather. I'll buy them again when this pair wears out which is typically after 30 or 40 games for me.

Bought these in the UAE delivered internationally. Took 2 weeks. The fit is quite good on these and grips the metal bats well. The only thing is the thread finishing is not the best. It’s not breaking it’s just that the thread on the palm stitching shows. I can just skip it off but scared the whole lot will unravel! Good glove overall and happy with my purchase

Franklin gloves have always been great for bp and games, the quality is what you can expect for standard batting gloves and the shok-sorb gloves last me a bit longer than the CFX Pro gloves and are a bit thicker. The size of the gloves are true to size, I usually wear L or XL gloves and the large shok-sorb gloves are a comfortable fit. I bought these on black friday for $20 CAD, and for that price, I wouldn't find a better deal anywhere else.
