After researching quite a few self-cleaning litter trays, I decided to go with this one and I'm so glad I did. It has made a huge difference to daily litter box maintenance and has saved so much time. The automatic cleaning function works well, keeping the litter fresh throughout the day and reducing odours significantly compared to a traditional tray. One of the biggest positives is how spacious it is. I have a larger cat and there is still plenty of room for them to turn around comfortably. The safety features also give peace of mind, as the unit stops when it detects movement, so I don't have to worry about my cats using it. The app setup was straightforward and it's really useful being able to monitor usage, cleaning cycles, and litter levels from my phone. The odour control is much better than expected, and the waste compartment is easy to empty without any mess. The build quality feels solid and well designed, and despite looking quite high-tech, it's very simple to use. My cats adapted to it much quicker than I expected and now use it without any hesitation. The only thing to be aware of is that it takes up more space than a standard litter tray, but that's expected with any automatic unit and the benefits far outweigh that minor drawback. Overall, an excellent investment for cat owners. It keeps the litter cleaner, reduces smells, saves time, and makes life much easier. Highly recommended. 🐾😺

I wanted to wait a few months before posting a review to make sure it was as useful and authentic as it could be. It’s been 6 months now and I really recommend this, and it’s cat approved!! I have two cats, they are quite timid rescue cat and they don’t go out so I was not looking forward to having multiple cat litter trays around the house that needed scooping constantly. It took them a while to get used to this crazy contraption that was steeling their poop. Maybe about a week before they used it. But not long after that, it became the only little tray they use. I have a normal one upstairs just incase, but they haven’t used that in about 3 months. I use Ever Clean clumping litter, and a litter freshener that I use every now and then. The litter tray is in my entrance hall under the stairs and you cannot smell a thing. I have it set to “clean” 10 mins after it’s been used by the cats so it gives time to clump and dry which works well for us. The tray itself is big and deep enough for them to burry their business. All the business and dirty litter goes into a little box that you can cover in a bag and you just open it up, tie the bag up and take it out. I have to change the bag every 5 - 7 days. I give it a quick clean when I change the bag which just involved a cloth and some soap and water. Then once a month I do a full clean where I completely take it apart. I have noticed that litter does end up underneath the box so it is coming out of somewhere when the drum is spinning to clean, but it’s never been wet and there is no pee escaping. There are only two minor negatives for me, which wouldn’t be enough to not recommend the product, but things that could be improved on. The cover on the back doesn’t “click” into place it just sits on the back of the drum which means you can’t lift it up to move it you have to push or drag. There are nooks and crannies everywhere which makes it a little difficult to clean. The litter can get everywhere. However, having to spend a little more time to clean it once a week is still definitely better than having to scoop two cats business everyday. And like I said, this is the only litter tray the cats will use now, which, for me, is the most important thing. It’s been funny watching them run over and be memorised by it moving and taking their poop away 🤣 even all these months later they still go up and watch it every now and then. There is a safety feature on it so it switches off if they get too close. It’s easy to set up and there is an app, although I almost never use the app. It can’t tell the difference between my two cats so that feature is a bit redundant.

Amazing machine , works really well. Takes so much work out of having cats, I empty it every other day to every 3 , it weights the cat really well , and was able to notice a illnesss once because of this machine and was able to inform the vets of all his movements it's really good for cats health Highly recommend, I'm hoping the bottom rubber becomes replaceable in further designs as it seems to be breaking down but customer service are sending me a replacement so exactly what warranty is for , fantastic price fantastic build, supper user friendly. And looks so sleek compared to some

I bought this to replace an original litter robot, which I had for many years. When it stopped working, I looked at getting another one. The price had tripled since I bought it, so I trudged along with a “normal” litter tray for a while. Once I couldn’t stand the normal litter tray anymore I forked out for one of these Meowant jobs. Well, Meowant my money back now! Aside from all the other problems (some of which are listed below), it’s stopped working properly, less than 6 months in. It’s a decent idea (seems to be based on the litter robot…?) but poorly executed, that’s for sure. • Dirty/wet litter ends up falling out of the front, if it even moves off the silicon(?) liner on the base of the drum. Quite often I have to use a gloved/covered hand to lift it off the liner so it will actually be removed rather than just sitting there for multiple cycles 🤢 • The receptacle compartment is absolutely disgusting - wet litter gets into all the multiple crevices (which could have easily been covered by a smooth piece of plastic to make it easier to clean). It also doesn’t last more than a week for my solitary elderly cat, despite the product video - well and truly full by then, and in warmer weather it gets mouldy 🤢 • It’s terrible at odour control, the smells are horrendous despite the little “deodoriser” block that you attach to the receptacle 🤢 • It’s really awful to clean. Impossible to get all the wet litter off the receptacle “lid” and out of the receptacle compartment and all its little crevices 🤢 the wet litter gets everywhere in there • Wet litter also sticks to the roof of the drum and so merrily cycles around before falling back into the supposedly “clean” litter after it has cycled and gone back into position. I put up with it for so long because the return window had closed. But now it doesn’t cycle every time it’s used, so when my elderly cat is presented with unclean litter, she squats at the entrance and wees on the floor. I didn’t pay almost £300 to be cleaning cat pee off the floor and purchasing puppy training pads to make it easier to do so. Either that or I have to watch her like a hawk and make sure I manually trigger cleaning after she’s done her business. I’ve now returned it!

I don't usually write reviews, but this product deserves one. I had a hysterectomy in December 2024, which meant bending down to clean a traditional litter tray was not only painful but impossible. I live alone, so I needed a solution that would let me care for my cat without having to rely on others, as the only family I have near is my elderly parents. The Meowant litter robot has been exactly that. It's self‑cleaning, and I don't have to bend or strain at all. It gave me back my independence, which has been so important during my recovery. But beyond the convenience, this robot genuinely helped me save my cat's life. A few weeks ago, I noticed he was straining to pee and that his litterbox visits were frequent but with very little output. Because the robot tracks usage and how long the cat is inside, I spotted the change early. I took him to the vet straight away, and they confirmed he had a urinary blockage — which can be fatal within 24‑48 hours. He was treated in time, and he's now recovering well. If I had still been using a traditional tray, I might not have noticed until it was too late So, if you're considering this product — for yourself, for your recovery, or for your cat's health — I cannot recommend it enough. It's given me peace of mind, independence, and the early warning system that saved my boy.

I got the litter tray after reading the reviews that were very positive. My experience has not been quite the same. The drum is heavy, not easy to clean, the litter spills around and the bag for the waste does not stay in place. For the money I paid I can only use half of the functionalities because the app does not work in my location. I found another one but I am not sure it’s the right one and I cannot connect the litter tray as much as I try. Customer service is not very helpful. The positive is that the cats didn’t mind the new tray and started using it quickly.

Received our machine beginning of December, its currently the middle of January, and I'm already planning on buying a second. I really wish I'd taken the plunge and bought one sooner! Dealing with the elephant in the room - safety - first. A lot of people have heard about the videos questioning the safety of automatic litter boxes, THIS IS ONE OF THE SAFE ONES! The emptying mechanism is side-to-side, so there is no door for a cat to be caught in. The pinch and weight sensors work - ours sometimes takes a few goes to get through a full cycle because some of our nosier cats are fascinated with their poop being stolen, and keep sticking their heads in the box to see what it's doing, which interrupts the cleaning cycle, which, to be fair, is exactly what's supposed to happen. Its very easy to set up, and very easy to use. Most of our cats (we have 9) took to it straight away, we do have one kitty who still prefers open top trays, (she's a tripod) but even she's used it on occasion. One of our cats is a *good* 16lb/7 kilos, and she can get in, move round inside, and pee without it coming out the front. Another 2 are 14-15lb/around 6kg, and they can actually both fit in the box at the same time - they've tried. The app is also pretty good at keeping track of which cat is using it at a time, although the only downside is you can only "allocate" 6 cats, and if 2 are similar enough weights, it'll record as the same cat - *slightly* concerning when it looks like your elderly male cat is peeing twice as much as any of the others until you realise one of the others weighs exactly the same as he does, so the box thinks they're one cat. (Even the boxes with a camera wouldn't necessarily fix this issue in my case, as they're both very similar looking black cats!) It is *so* much easier than constantly scooping poop! We change the bag every other day, but that's due to the number of cats - one bag could easily last a week if you have 2 or 3 cats. For the most part, it keeps smells in quite well - I've only noticed a bit of a smell when the bag is full, and a cleaning cycle runs. It came with everything you need, apart from litter, straight out the box, including the litter bags, two deodorising blocks, and a very large litter mat. It also comes with a clip-on pee guard for the front entrance. Your mileage may vary as to whether you need this; as, whilst it *does* stop most spraying out the front, it raises the entrance height, which may make it more difficult for older or arthritic cars to get in. The litter you use *must* be clumping for the box to work - I'd personally recommend corn or Tofu litter, and to introduce your cats to the litter first. I've found clay litters make more mess, and necessitate a full cleaning of the drum more often - with the Tofu and corn litters, there's very little stuck so you can just give it a quick wipe down with a cloth and pet-safe disinfectant every week or so. Clay needed scrubbing after about 2 days!

I bought this for my now 14 week old Bengal, and I'm please with it. He uses it without problems. Ive read that some people have issues with the cleanliness of the litter. I suspect that the problem with the litter type. After experimenting i settled on a more expensive, fine grained, corn litter "Worlds Best". It clumps well, and flows as the machine rotates. Because it lasts, the up front cost is acceptable. I don't believe heavier, clumpier litter would work well. I do find it smells after about 3 days, but im not sure why anyone would want to keep cat waste in their house for more than that length of time anyway. Its quick and easy to replace the waste bag. Im a bloke, so I put it together without reading the instructions. For once, this worked. Its simple to assemble. It comes with a mat to put in front, to trap scattered litter. It works reasonably well, but i wonder if one of the outside doormats with a metal grid would work better. I may experiment... No complaints about the app.. tells me when Leo uses it, and how long for. It also allows manual cleaning, levelling of litter etc. Update. Leo is 6 months old now, still uses it exclusively, using the same litter. I need to change the bag every other day, because it does smell. The waste storage is not even slightly airtight, and the deodorant block just has a nasty chemical scent. Its quite enclosed, so its difficult to see if the litter level is correct. I just shovel in a couple of scoops when I change the bag, and hope for the best. It was interesting to see how the machine monitored his weight, but it gave up at 3.1 kilos. Hes now 4 kilos. Overall it does the job, and there are far more expensive machines on the market, but I'm dropping 2 stars for smell, and weight inaccuracy.

I held off for a long time before making a purchase like this. I did a lot of research before selecting this one. This automated litter box is great and you will end up using less litter than before, saving you money in the long run. This is definitely a good investment. You can set the interval for cleaning and it starts a cleaning cycle after the cat leaves the litter box. Mine is set to 1 minute. My two cats sometimes watch it while it is in motion, but best of all, it pauses if they get too close to it. It is very safe. I'm very happy with the product and it is one less task I have to worry about and my cats are healthier because of it too. It's a win win. The software is pretty good for the tasks it does. You rarely need to go into it. You basically set it and forget it. And if you want to schedule a manual clean, you can. You can also use compost bags for the waste. I put rubber bands around the compost bag and container so it doesn't collapse into the waste bin. As others have mentioned, it is suggested to make sure the bag covers the latch area as bits of litter collect in this area preventing the lid from closing properly. If you cover this area with the bag, you reduce this issue from happening. I suggest using a small brush to clean around this whole area and crevices to ensure the lid closes properly or you will have a mess (learned this my self the hard way). If the unit loses communication, a simple powercycle of the box fixes any common issues between the app and the box. Very rare if that ever happens. It's a solid product for what you get. Almost close to perfection in my personal opinion, minus the small issues I have came across. I highly recommend it.

Easy set up, our cat adopted it very quickly. We couldn't use the app, because it says that it's not available in Australia. But nevertheless, we don't need it as much.

I want to preface this review by saying I've been fostering cats for almost 20 years. My first automatic was the infomercial Littermaid and I'm no stranger to the weird, wonderful, and frustratingly nutty hacker universe of automatic litter boxes. I've had Litter-Robots since the II model and currently have four LR3s. Two of which are currently malfunctioning. Although my units range in age from 7 to 1.5 years, all of them have had mechanical issues at one point. Fortunately spare parts are available through Whisker or Robot Shop, but being good at troubleshooting and handy with a screwdriver should be a requirement for purchase of a Litter-Robot! For their extraordinary cost, I didn't think it was unreasonable to expect them to work flawlessly for *at least* a couple years before having to fix something. Yet, almost on schedule, a little over a year would pass and the new unit would start acting up. I never felt sure enough about the LR3s to ditch the manual boxes. Enter the MEOWANT. I follow One Man Five Cats on YouTube for his in-depth videos on all the new automatic litter boxes which have flooded the market in the past few years. Though he still put the Litter-Robot 4 at the top of his list, he felt the Meowant was the safest, didn't leak (!) and was half the price of the LR4 (!!!). I figured it was worth a shot. There was even a coupon for $80 off when I pulled the trigger. Now, almost four months later, me and the cats are very happy with the purchase. I even got another! Since the units are in my cattery, and because I have a revolving door with various cats, the app functionality isn't important to me. Reliability, safety and ease of use are my top demands and the Meowant hasn't disappointed. PROS: Very reliable. Not once have I found the drum stuck in the upside down position or non-operational as I often do with the LR3s. It's also easier to disassemble, empty and clean. Many of my foster kitties find the low entry more cat-friendly and start using the Meowant immediately. They're mesmerized and will often run up to watch it turn, allowing me to monitor how well the sensors are working. The Meowant's IR sensors are far better than the LR3s safety features, which only sense weight in the drum or bumping. Because of the Meowant's excellent sensors and simpler waste dumping, it seems almost impossible to me for a cat to get hurt (of course you wouldn't want tiny kittens in there, use some common sense). It's also nearly silent, except for the sound of tumbling clumps. CONS: The low entry means if you have kickers or head-in pee-ers or poopers, there's more to clean up. A surprising (maybe even shocking) amount of litter falls between the drum and the base, especially in front of the opening. You can find fences to fit the Meowant on Etsy, which will help. The filter screen gauge is too big (maybe 2x as open as the LR3) and can leave a lot of bits and chunks behind (especially with soft poops), meaning you'll have to "detail" your litter by hand. The latch on the waste door can be hard to open, part of which is due to litter getting into the cracks and holes around the waste receptacle area. I don't use a liner, so it would've been nice if the yellow bin liner holder could've been a handle instead, so I wouldn't have to reach into the dirty bin to lift it out for emptying. There's no on/off button, so the unit needs to be unplugged before emptying the waste bin, tidying up, or doing anything that might take longer than a minute. Since the company and the Meowant haven't been around for very long, customer service, warranty and finding spare parts could be problematic. Despite my lengthy con section, I'm actually contemplating buying another unit. The thing just works and has made my crazy cat life easier, instead of adding frustration and buyer's remorse.

I am almost 2 months in, and I love this litter box. Aside from the obvious - not having to scoop litter, Here are some other things I like about it: 1. It is really good at sensing my cats' presence, but will continuing rotating if my cat sits still (She like to watch it work). 2. I do not smell the litter held in the disposal compartiment, and it is in my living room right beside my couch. 3. The bags that came with it are nice and thick, and the perfect size. It also works with any other bag. I did have an issue with a regular bag tearing from the weight though. 4. I can continue to use my litter ( arm &hammer cloud control) which made the transition seamless. 5. It is almost silent. I can only hear it because the clumps make a sound when they fall. 6. With 2 cats, I am emptying the compartment every 3 to 4 days. 7. It has honestly saved my lower back so much pain, bending over or kneeling. 8. Cleaning it is a bit of a pain, as the drum is heavy, and getting all the litter out is hard. But I think after doing it a few times, it will become less cumbersome. Now, the APP. I read some mixed reviews about this. So far I think it is very useful. 1. When I am away, I can see that they use the litter, and can make sure it is getting cleaned etc. 2. The weight is a bit off, my cats are 17lbs and 9lbs. The app days they are 19lbs and 14lbs. But they get weighed in at about the same every time do I am still able to see who is going to the bathroom and when. It would be better if you could add multiple weights to a cat: My cats like to dig.... so I get a notification for 19lbs and then 8lbs immediately after (which is my big boy digging). My work-around was to create an extra cat profile for "Felix digging". 3. You can set any schedule you want for the cleaning, or just do it manually. At first I was doing it manually until they got used to it. I have it set to automatically clean 30 minutes after my cat leaves to litter box, to make sure all the clumping has occurred and dried (mostly). So far no smears. 4. It is very intuitive and easy to use. Overall I love this product and highly recommend it.
