Self Cleaning Cat Litter Tray, Integrated Safety Protection Automatic Cat Litter Tray for Multiple Cats, Extra Large/Odor Removal/APP Control Smart Robot Tray with Mat & Liner

This was our third self-cleaning litter tray, all three having been purchased through Amazon. We had set ourselves a maximum budget of £200, as ultimately this was something we wanted mainly for the convenience. We knew £200 was at the lower end of the market, with the better-known and heavily marketed branded models often costing anywhere from £450–£700.This particular model was listed at £229. We added it to our basket and waited patiently, and within a few days Amazon offered a limited-time percentage discount, bringing the price down to £186.Having already tried two other self-cleaning litter trays, the main reason we chose this one was its side waste compartment and rotating cleaning design.Our first self-cleaning tray cost £129 and emptied the waste into a drawer underneath the unit. Unfortunately, during the cleaning cycle, the mechanism exposed a gap in the bottom of the litter area for around 15 seconds. Our cat apparently thought the cleaning cycle was great entertainment and would try to jump back inside while it was moving! This meant there was an opportunity for her to land directly in the exposed gap and dirty waste area.We considered this a potential safety risk and returned it, thinking perhaps it was simply a design issue with that particular model.We then purchased another model for around £160. Unfortunately, it used essentially the same underneath sliding-tray design and had exactly the same problem. During cleaning, a gap was again exposed in the bottom for long enough that our cat could potentially jump back inside and land in it.Despite the problems with those first two machines, by this point we were completely sold on the idea of a self-cleaning litter tray. The convenience is fantastic. The area around the litter tray stays much cleaner, there is virtually no lingering smell from faeces, and you don't have to immediately scoop the tray after every use.For an indoor-only cat in particular, it also gives you a lot more freedom. Combined with an automatic dry-food feeder, you can go to work, have a long day out or potentially be away overnight without constantly worrying about whether the litter tray needs cleaning.Third time lucky!This model solves the biggest issue we had with the previous two. Rather than opening a gap underneath and dropping the waste into a drawer below, the drum rotates and the clumped litter/waste empties into a compartment built into the side of the machine.That means that even if our cat decides to jump back inside during a cleaning cycle, there isn't the same exposed hole in the bottom for her to fall into. For us, that provides much greater peace of mind in terms of both safety and cleanliness.The machine itself also feels noticeably more robust than the cheaper models we tried. It looks and feels more premium, better made and generally more substantial.We've now had it for over two weeks and are extremely happy with it. It comes with an app that allows you to monitor things such as your cat's weight and litter-tray usage, which is a useful extra.It also holds a good amount of litter. We use Pets at Home Ultra Clumping Performance Litter, and approximately half a bag fills the machine. We currently do a complete litter change roughly every 7–10 days, while the waste bag in the side compartment generally needs changing every 3–5 days. Obviously, this will vary depending on your cat and usage.Overall, we're extremely happy with this self-cleaning litter tray. After two unsuccessful attempts with cheaper underneath-drawer designs, this really was third time lucky.It cost us more than the previous two, but in our experience it was absolutely worth spending the extra. At £186, it feels like an excellent compromise between the cheaper self-cleaning trays and the premium branded models costing £450–£700.Highly recommended, particularly if you're concerned about the exposed gap created by some of the underneath waste-drawer designs.

After researching quite a few self-cleaning litter trays, I decided to go with this one and I'm so glad I did. It has made a huge difference to daily litter box maintenance and has saved so much time. The automatic cleaning function works well, keeping the litter fresh throughout the day and reducing odours significantly compared to a traditional tray.One of the biggest positives is how spacious it is. I have a larger cat and there is still plenty of room for them to turn around comfortably. The safety features also give peace of mind, as the unit stops when it detects movement, so I don't have to worry about my cats using it.The app setup was straightforward and it's really useful being able to monitor usage, cleaning cycles, and litter levels from my phone. The odour control is much better than expected, and the waste compartment is easy to empty without any mess.The build quality feels solid and well designed, and despite looking quite high-tech, it's very simple to use. My cats adapted to it much quicker than I expected and now use it without any hesitation.The only thing to be aware of is that it takes up more space than a standard litter tray, but that's expected with any automatic unit and the benefits far outweigh that minor drawback.Overall, an excellent investment for cat owners. It keeps the litter cleaner, reduces smells, saves time, and makes life much easier. Highly recommended. 🐾😺

Amazing machine , works really well. Takes so much work out of having cats, I empty it every other day to every 3 , it weights the cat really well , and was able to notice a illnesss once because of this machine and was able to inform the vets of all his movements it's really good for cats healthHighly recommend, I'm hoping the bottom rubber becomes replaceable in further designs as it seems to be breaking down but customer service are sending me a replacement so exactly what warranty is for , fantastic price fantastic build, supper user friendly.And looks so sleek compared to some

I bought this to replace an original litter robot, which I had for many years. When it stopped working, I looked at getting another one. The price had tripled since I bought it, so I trudged along with a “normal” litter tray for a while. Once I couldn’t stand the normal litter tray anymore I forked out for one of these Meowant jobs.Well, Meowant my money back now! Aside from all the other problems (some of which are listed below), it’s stopped working properly, less than 6 months in.It’s a decent idea (seems to be based on the litter robot…?) but poorly executed, that’s for sure.• Dirty/wet litter ends up falling out of the front, if it even moves off the silicon(?) liner on the base of the drum. Quite often I have to use a gloved/covered hand to lift it off the liner so it will actually be removed rather than just sitting there for multiple cycles 🤢• The receptacle compartment is absolutely disgusting - wet litter gets into all the multiple crevices (which could have easily been covered by a smooth piece of plastic to make it easier to clean). It also doesn’t last more than a week for my solitary elderly cat, despite the product video - well and truly full by then, and in warmer weather it gets mouldy 🤢• It’s terrible at odour control, the smells are horrendous despite the little “deodoriser” block that you attach to the receptacle 🤢• It’s really awful to clean. Impossible to get all the wet litter off the receptacle “lid” and out of the receptacle compartment and all its little crevices 🤢 the wet litter gets everywhere in there• Wet litter also sticks to the roof of the drum and so merrily cycles around before falling back into the supposedly “clean” litter after it has cycled and gone back into position.I put up with it for so long because the return window had closed. But now it doesn’t cycle every time it’s used, so when my elderly cat is presented with unclean litter, she squats at the entrance and wees on the floor.I didn’t pay almost £300 to be cleaning cat pee off the floor and purchasing puppy training pads to make it easier to do so. Either that or I have to watch her like a hawk and make sure I manually trigger cleaning after she’s done her business.I’ve now returned it!

I was initially dubious of purchasing an automatic litter tray, as whilst the idea of them sounded brilliant (especially with 4 cats) I had heard one too many horror stories. However after a lot of research into which trays are the safest I finally decided to give one a go and I am so glad I did! We’ve only been using this tray for a week but it has already made such a difference. My cats took to using it straight away, and although they weren’t so sure of it when it went through its first clean cycle that hasn’t put them off, and now they just ignore it when it’s cleaning. I will definitely be getting a second one for upstairs.As I said, safety was my main concern and even after ordering I still wasn’t 100% sure as I had not seen it in person. But now having used it myself I am happy to confirm that this tray is safe. The sensors stop the cleaning cycle as soon as the cats get close, and if for any reason the sensors were to fail and a cat was able to get in during the cycle the tray remains completely open throughout so there is no way for them to get trapped. The same goes for the waist bin, this is covered by a flap that opens and closes with gravity as the tray rotates, so even if a cat were to stick their paw in they would be able to pull it back out no problem.The other deciding factor for me was size, which is why I chose this tray over the other ones I was considering. Whilst it is still significantly larger than a regular tray, it is the smallest automatic tray I could find and after a little rearranging it works really well in my space.I only have two criticisms. The first would be that it is a little awkward to put litter in. Though this is not the end of the world as I just use a scoop to add the litter to the tray now as opposed to pouring it directly from the bag like I used to. The second critique is that the power cord could do with being slightly longer, again this is not that big of a deal as I have made it work, just something to note.Overall I am really happy with this litter tray so far and I definitely recommend it.

I don't usually write reviews, but this product deserves one.I had a hysterectomy in December 2024, which meant bending down to clean a traditional litter tray was not only painful but impossible. I live alone, so I needed a solution that would let me care for my cat without having to rely on others, as the only family I have near is my elderly parents. The Meowant litter robot has been exactly that.It's self‑cleaning, and I don't have to bend or strain at all. It gave me back my independence, which has been so important during my recovery. But beyond the convenience, this robot genuinely helped me save my cat's life.A few weeks ago, I noticed he was straining to pee and that his litterbox visits were frequent but with very little output. Because the robot tracks usage and how long the cat is inside, I spotted the change early. I took him to the vet straight away, and they confirmed he had a urinary blockage — which can be fatal within 24‑48 hours. He was treated in time, and he's now recovering well. If I had still been using a traditional tray, I might not have noticed until it was too lateSo, if you're considering this product — for yourself, for your recovery, or for your cat's health — I cannot recommend it enough. It's given me peace of mind, independence, and the early warning system that saved my boy.

I got the litter tray after reading the reviews that were very positive. My experience has not been quite the same. The drum is heavy, not easy to clean, the litter spills around and the bag for the waste does not stay in place. For the money I paid I can only use half of the functionalities because the app does not work in my location. I found another one but I am not sure it’s the right one and I cannot connect the litter tray as much as I try. Customer service is not very helpful. The positive is that the cats didn’t mind the new tray and started using it quickly.

I wanted to wait a few months before posting a review to make sure it was as useful and authentic as it could be. It’s been 6 months now and I really recommend this, and it’s cat approved!!I have two cats, they are quite timid rescue cat and they don’t go out so I was not looking forward to having multiple cat litter trays around the house that needed scooping constantly.It took them a while to get used to this crazy contraption that was steeling their poop. Maybe about a week before they used it. But not long after that, it became the only little tray they use. I have a normal one upstairs just incase, but they haven’t used that in about 3 months.I use Ever Clean clumping litter, and a litter freshener that I use every now and then. The litter tray is in my entrance hall under the stairs and you cannot smell a thing.I have it set to “clean” 10 mins after it’s been used by the cats so it gives time to clump and dry which works well for us. The tray itself is big and deep enough for them to burry their business.All the business and dirty litter goes into a little box that you can cover in a bag and you just open it up, tie the bag up and take it out.I have to change the bag every 5 - 7 days. I give it a quick clean when I change the bag which just involved a cloth and some soap and water. Then once a month I do a full clean where I completely take it apart.I have noticed that litter does end up underneath the box so it is coming out of somewhere when the drum is spinning to clean, but it’s never been wet and there is no pee escaping.There are only two minor negatives for me, which wouldn’t be enough to not recommend the product, but things that could be improved on.The cover on the back doesn’t “click” into place it just sits on the back of the drum which means you can’t lift it up to move it you have to push or drag.There are nooks and crannies everywhere which makes it a little difficult to clean. The litter can get everywhere. However, having to spend a little more time to clean it once a week is still definitely better than having to scoop two cats business everyday.And like I said, this is the only litter tray the cats will use now, which, for me, is the most important thing. It’s been funny watching them run over and be memorised by it moving and taking their poop away 🤣 even all these months later they still go up and watch it every now and then. There is a safety feature on it so it switches off if they get too close.It’s easy to set up and there is an app, although I almost never use the app. It can’t tell the difference between my two cats so that feature is a bit redundant.

This is a great robotic litterbox that doesn't break the bank...as much as some other robotic ones.I'd give this a solid 8.5/10 vs. my experience with other robotic litter boxes.Pros:+ IT WORKS! This is the most important part. All other features are add-ons & luxuries, but the core function is that it has to automatically scoop up the poop & pee while leaving behind the clean litter. In this aspect, it performs very very well. For reference - I use Arm & Hammer Slide litter. The drum rotates to move the cat litter through a net, which then filters out the solid stuff from the otherwise sand-like litter and deposits the waste inside a box with a liner bag. No waste or litter has gotten stuck on the net for me.+ It's quiet. Quiet enough that I can only hear it when I'm in the same area as the litter box. Any significant noise that is generated is from the actual solids falling into the waste box.+ App functionality. This is a WIP, clearly as updates are still being made. But current features allow you to track which cat is in the box via weight. If you have 2 cats of similar weight, it probably won't work that well. The app allows you to manually operate the box or set a time delay for when it should run after a cat has used it. I've found that 30 minutes post use is a good time. The default 1 minute setting was way too soon.+ Storage. The waste box isn't huge, but it's large enough to store everything for a week from 2 cats, if necessary. But it'd be pretty full. I generally prefer to change the liner bags 2x a week, on trash days. Those tend to be 1/3 full. Liner bags that come from the manufacturer are lightly scented and have drawstrings. They work, but you could probably use another bag if you'd like, as there's a plastic component that keeps the liner bags in place and would be compatible with other bags too.+ Odor. I have 2 cats, so you can imagine that quite a bit of poop and pee happens. I haven't smelled any of the odor. The lined waste bin is effective at keeping odor at bay. Though keep in mind a larger contributor to this is the litter that I use.+ Price. The price is competitive relative to other robot litter boxes. It's not super cheap, but it isn't asking for $600-700 dollars that so many robot litter boxes are asking for...and still somehow won't work perfectly.Cons:- App keeps logging me out & forgetting my machine at random. I'd say this happens once a month. This is a minor annoyance more than anything else. I have the app on my iPhone, but basically I have to log back in every time and there is no Face ID sign-in. You'll have to type your username (email) & password every time. Then, the app randomly forgets the litter box machine too, so I'll have to reconnect them. It's a quick process, but is annoying. I hope this will be addressed in future updates. The good thing is that all your previously set parameters remain, so the machine will still operate as usual. I only really access the app to trigger a manual clean, usually right before I tie the trash and take it out. You can do this in the app or by clicking the first button from left to right, on the base (I use my toe for this). I'm docking 1 point for this as it's an inconvenience that should be addressed.- Litter tracking. The opening to the litter box is relatively low, probably for ease of entry for even older/larger cats. This is good for futureproofing as our cats will inevitably get older. However, that also means that it's very common for some litter to get pushed out of litter box if your cat decides to do some intense digging. The cats will definitely track litter. Do note that the machine comes with a small litter tracking mat. I've alleviated most of this by using a large litter tracking mat. They should offer a small insert to snap onto the entry to prevent litter tracking. For this I'm docking 1/2 a point.As you can see, there are a lot more pros vs cons and most importantly the cons are not deal breakers. No core functionality is lost with the cons I've listed. Many other robot litter boxes cost more, and still somehow mess up on core functions. At least, with this box, it'll get the most important job done - cleaning the litter when needed without fuss. I've had this box for a few months now and it's been great - so much so that I bought a 2nd one to make life easier.

I’ve been really happy with this self-cleaning litter box. Setup was straightforward, it’s easy to use, and the automatic cleaning saves a lot of time compared with a regular litter box. It also does a good job keeping the area cleaner and controlling odor.My kitten adjusted to it without any trouble, and he's been using it for almost 2 years now. So far it has been reliable and very convenient. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade if you want to make litter box maintenance easier.

Easy set up, our cat adopted it very quickly.We couldn't use the app, because it says that it's not available in Australia. But nevertheless, we don't need it as much.

Excelente, llevo ya unos meses con ella y me encanta, mi gatita viejita con cáncer la usaba sin problemas. Si está en proceso de limpieza, en cuanto detecta peso dentro o movimiento cercano, se detiene por completo por lo que nunca hubo algún accidente si mi gatita volvía a entrar o se tardaba en salir. A mi gatita chiquita también le gusta mucho y la usa sin ningún problema.
