AQUASTRONG In/Above Ground Pool Pump, High Flow (Dual Speed, 1.5HP, 4975 GPH, 115V)

Got this pump to replace my 1.5 hp Pentax. Pump works great very powerful and really circulates the water in my 27' above ground. Two things I will caution you about.... I do not realize exactly how powerful it would be. 1. It collapsed the regular vacuum hose I use with my manual pool vac brush head (the kind you attach to the brush head and vacuum yourself) It needs a professional heavy duty hose. 2. This model pump dies NOT have an on/off switch. Really surprised by that as it is the plug in model, not the hard wired one. I fixed that issue by ordering this switch on Amazon. I'll include a pic here. Plugs into the pump and then into your power with a switch in between. Works great. (If you end up needing this be sure to match your voltage with your pumps voltage, as they vary depending on the horsepower you're using) Otherwise this pump is amazing. It's quiet. Walking 20 feet away it can barely be heard. It fit my original plumbing setup easily, includes a couple adapters which was nice. Also includes a 2 year warranty. I scanned the included card with Q code, filled that form out the online and got a confirmation e-mail back immediately. So far I am really happy with this purchase. Why did you pick this product vs others?:I picked this unit because of price and it looked like it was an easy install. It turned out both. This company is a high level and very customer oriented. The pump that I bought first time developed a problem with bearings and when it was hooked up for the second season the bearings screamed out. I went ahead and purchased a second pump because it would be an easy swap. The second pump is still working fine. I contacted this company, Aqua Strong, and they were very very quick and very helpful to warrant the first pump. I received a refund for the first pump and they told me that I did not have to return the first pump to do with it as I pleased. I have been very very pleased with this company. They stand behind their product 110%. I would highly recommend this company and their pump.

Whisper quite when running. Incredible pressure output. Easy installation. Be aware that the fittings will fit standard pvc pipe sizes but they are larger part of the way and you must insert them into the fittings all the way for connection. The timer on the top of the pump is really nice. If you have an existing timer already and want to use your existing timer instead of the pump timer to control the pump, simply set the pump timer to run 24hrs. and you can control the pump with your existing timer.

DO NOT purchase this pump or any pump from Armstrong. Within less than a month we purchased two of these pumps, they both malfunctioned from the get go and with the same exact problem. They leak from within the motor and the only way to find the leak would be to tear the whole thing apart. Amazon gave us a credit for the first one but when the second one came in the exact same condition, we were basically SOL. We had to hard wire the pump to our pool (i.e. we don’t just have an outlet to plug it into) and because it was “altered” it cannot be returned. I’m still not sure how you hook up a pool pump without altering it, but Amazon also told us that we better clean it really good. If it has any water, leaves, or other debris, it would be considered our fault for the malfunction. Just go with your local pool company and spend a little extra money. It isn’t worth the hassle.

so far I’ve had this for about a month. Easy to install. Uses 120v plugs right in to any outlet. It comes on everyday at the same time. Only thing I’m not big on is when I turn it on without letting the timer turn it on it runs for however long you have the timer set for and will turn on the next day at the same time. So if you had it set to come on at a certain time you will have to reset it the next day.

One month in and it has almost already paid for itself. I replaced my noisy inefficient pump with this and have had zero issues. Easy bolt on install. I was weary about the plug connector but the amp draw is low enough to not worry about. I use it with a smart WiFi plug and completely automate my pump running times now. If it only lasted two seasons I’d still say it’s worth it.

Good pump, replaced an old Howard pump after 25 years of service, repair would cost me around $350 to $400. I found this pump reasonably priced. Needed little bit of plumbing while installing but that's fine.This pump is quite, with the timer feature makes things much convenient. With two years plus and additional one year for registering the product you can't go wrong.I definitely recommend this product

So far a great replacement to my Hayward Superpump. Same power for about 1/3 the cost. Easy install and very quiet. I have had mine installed for a few weeks... I am very pleased even if this pump only holds up for a few years I would buy 3 of these before I will ever buy a single Hayward again that will develop a bearing noise just as fast.
