GE Profile 1.7 cu. ft. Over The Range Microwave in Stainless Steel with Air Fry PVM9179SRSS

This is the nicest GE Profile Over-the-Range Microwave/Convection/Air Fry unit. It's Top Notch in all aspects. We replaced a GE Profile Microwave/Convection oven (JVM1790SK01) that was 17 years old and only just recently started having turn-table problems. No problems in 17 years of daily use. Now that says something for GE appliances. The Seller (Home Supply USA) was fabulous with Lightning Speed delivery (4 Days) at the door. Packaged with care and no issues. All questions/concerns were quickly answered. One note: Be careful about replacing units with alternate brands as the mounting hardware can be different. In our case, I called GE ahead and they recommended the unit that would best match and they were correct. We have a custom install using a 5-inch bumpout. I would not have known about it, but GE took care that we would have the least problems with the install and it was perfect. The unit is HEAVY at about 70+ pounds... Be prepared. This GE unit PVM9179SRSS is very nice and you will be glad for it as we are. Look for Side Space fillers and a Bumpout kit (Part Number JX15bumpbb) for deep cabinets when ordering. Some bumpouts are 3 inches and like the one we have is 5 inches for an 18 inch deep cabinet. Side filler kits are to take up space (if any) on the sides. Vent out straight up with baffle, Vent out back or No vent (Recirculate out the front) comes with the unit. Glass Tray, Metal Tray and Air Fry stand comes with it. Install booklet comes with it. 3-Wire Power Cord comes already installed and ready to plug in.

Great microwave with all the frills. Installation was a breeze using provided templet. Only complaint is there is no instruction manual. Lots of tutorials online.

Replaced a 20 year old GE microwave with this unit. Looks really nice and the features we've used work great. Looking forward to trying the air fryer and convection features. Bummed it didn't use the same mounting as the previous GE microwave. Seems silly it didn't, but just extra work. This is my only reason for 4 stars, oh, and the dent in the side.

The microwave and air fryer both work great!

It's an Above-The-Range Microwave, yet the ventilation system makes noise but moves very little air through the filter system, and if I choose to boil water on the cooktop the door layers fog up, taking hours to dissipate. A user manual did not come with the unit paperwork, only a quick-start pamphlet. The bottom panel was significantly bent and mis-shaped, requiring an hour of my time to straighten carefully and properly, since the bottom panel is visible above the cooktop. LED lighting is nice and bright, plus I can see the food being cooked, which was impossible on our previous GE Profile, even when it was newly installed.

We used the previous version of this microwave/convection oven daily for fifteen years before it went out, so we went with this new version. There were minor variations in the installation, but nothing too bad. However, the convection portion of the oven failed immediately. Amazon sent a prepaid shipping label (75 lbs) and issued a refund right away. I ordered another one (same vendor), which shipped promptly. This one is working well, so far. One complaint - the display is blazingly bright, and there doesn't seem to be a way to dim it. I had to cover it with window tint film.
