The Ashes of War: The Fight for Upper Canada, August 1814–March 1815 (Upper Canada Preserved ― War of 1812, 6)

Well planed and history book.
I have read several books concerning the siege and sortie of Ft. Erie, and I consider this volume top tier. Very thorough. I have a Great-great-great Grandpa who was an American Lt. Colonel involved with this battle(s). So, I'm pretty sensitive to how an author handles the subject. A well done history.

Closing Stages of the War of 1812
This is the sixth and final installment of Richard Feltoe's excellent works about the War of 1812. It covers the period following the Battle of Lundy's Lane to the end of the War, the main engagement being the siege of Fort Erie. Feltoe covers this action in his usual highly descriptive manner, details of which a reader would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. The narrative is supported by many maps which make each movement of the opposing forces easy to understand. The Ashes of War is a well written and comprehensive read of the final phases of the War of 1812 and compliments the earlier works of the series.
