Ugly Betty - Season 1-4 [DVD] [2007]

For the price of this box set you can’t really go wrong, some online streaming services charge £20 per season and this boxset offers all 4 seasons for £25. If you’re an Ugly Betty fan this is a must have. The packaging is quite pretty and compact, it doesn’t waste a lot of space unlike some huge box sets making it quite nice to store in a DVD collection.While it’s really great it doesn’t come without its issues. I had previously been watching season 3 on Amazon Prime, then they moved it to being purchase to watch, so I ordered this box set. Upon the box set arriving, it was immediately noticeable that some episodes on season 3 were a higher pitch of volume, which was somewhat distracting, it was viewed on the same device as I viewed it on prime so it was not a device issue, however the problem seems to either correct itself or I got used to it. I have yet to watch seasons 1-3 from the beginning on the box set, however when starting season 4 there is an intense amount of adverts for decade old shows, which is something I’ve not experienced on many box sets. They are individually skippable, but annoying none the less.These aren’t reasons you shouldn’t buy it, just things to be aware of, it’s still incredibly good value for money and a delight to any Ugly Betty fans!

Not sure how I managed to miss this show when it first came out but it has rocketed straight to the top of my best tv shows of all time list. I started watching it for the lovely Eric Mabius but found myself falling in love with the entire cast, the great writing, the stories - it covers so many issues that are still relevant today with a brilliantly balanced mix of humour and drama. It is a show with genuine heart. The DVD box set is great, with lots of fascinating and entertaining extras. I cannot recommend this highly enough!

this is perfect saturday night with popcorn and pj's. it is a fluffy series with great characters and a delightful arc. you are rooting for all the characters to be ok and there is a depth of story that you dont expect in many shows. often the people are one-dimensional and you really dont get involved but everyone from Daniel (the boss!! really?) to 'evil' Wilahema (love her) is great and there are deeper issues raised - even a good one for younger girls (14-18) to show what to expect with relationships both good and bad our girl betty doesnt take second best.

Liked came on the date, there wasn't a mark or scratch to the cds, would definitely buy again.

I bought this product because I loved watching it on the TV and found it to be great pick-me-up for when I'm feeling down. All episodes are included with bonus footage really enhancing the 'UGLY BETTY' experience. It is all beautifully presented in lovely packaging.To me this product deserves 5 stars. The only negative point I will make is that I was saddened to find out that when ever a character was supposed to say 'Fashion TV' it had been beeped out. This may be because there is a channel out there called Fashion TV and doesn't like the association between their brand image and the one created by this fictional series.A definite must-buy for all UGLY BETTY fans. ^_^

Show is great but the plastic case is broken meaning discs dont stay fixed.

This is a great series - very funny and entertaining. I could not find it for sale here in Australia and so turned to Amazon where it is offered at an extremely affordable price (works out to be roughly $10AUD per season).HOWEVER, despite having no problems with playing seasons 1 & 2, when I got to season 3 the first disc wouldn't work saying it was not the correct region (but all the other discs in the season worked). Amazon is kindly sending me a replacement so I will update my review when it arrives.
