Smart smart-lock
Best smart lock for the house. No more keys and security concerns. I can unlock the doors from anywhere.

Easy to install, Easy to use.
We decided to get this lock for our patio entrance so that we can give a separate code to our friend for cat sitting occasions. It allowed us to keep our entry codes private, while still being notified when she is coming in. It also gives us peace of mind when remotely locking the door. It was not hard to install and get the app up and running. Very satisfied with the purchase in general.

I think I like it
I bought this mainly for the auto-unlock feature. So far it has worked about 50% of the time. There must be a trick to getting it to work that I haven't figured out yet. I bought this lock twice. The first package came with incorrect handles. The door handles had holes (someone else posted a photo) that exposed the inside of the mechanism on both sides of the door. The second package came with the right ones. The instructions for installing the door knob were horrible. The were not written for this model. After a loooooot of trial and error I finally got it on correctly. I wish I had taken photos to share with you but I didn't think of it until it was already assembled and I am just not going to do that one more time. I like how the keypad is not visible until you press the Yale button. It's less obvious as a keypad lock.

Great smart lock!!
Love our Yale Smart Locks, great tech support and love the Yale App interface! We have one on our AirB&B it makes so we can send guests a personal entry code that expires once they’re time is up. Loved the first lock so much I added a second to my shop!!

Does not work with Apple Wallet. Difficult wi-fi set up. BIG TIP at the end of review!
Yale Assure Lock 2, Assure Lock 2 Touch, Assure Lock 2 Plus....what's going on here? Yale seems to be releasing many incremental variations on their current lock. Let me tell you now: do not get the Assure Lock 2. It's lacking in features that the other two versions have. If you're going for a smart lock, better to have as many features as possible imo. But first let's talk installation. The physical hardware installation was straight forward for the pro handyman I hired. One door I had in mind I ended up skipping because the distance of the dead bolt to the door edge was much longer than current standards. Make sure you have a clean and smooth slide on the deadbolt. The motors aren't that strong so you don't want a 'sticky' deadbolt. The most difficult part was the tech set up. The app is buggy. Make sure you use the QR code during setup. I could not get the setup to finish by manually entering the serial number. You need a strong wi-fi connection which can be difficult depending on the distance your door is to your router. One day one I could only get one of two locks to complete setup. On the second day, maybe because the air currents were in alignment with the moon and Venus, the second lock was able to connect to the wi-fi router and complete setup. Whew! Almost thought I had bought a $250 smart lock that was not going to be smart (you can always use a physical key with these). Now that it's set up it works great--BUT, this model doesn't work with the Apple Wallet feature. For that you need the Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus. Too bad Yale couldn't just add that functionality to the Assure Lock 2. Oh, and what about that Touch model mentioned earlier? That's if you want finger print access. Why Yale has to separate out all these features is very unfortunate. Just make a single model that gives users all the choices they want. Touch and Apple integration should be basic features in 2023. Anyways, on to batter life. How long will the batteries last? I've had these two months and so far still working on the included batteries. But make sure to keep a physical key accessible somewhere for when the batteries go out. THE BIG TIP: Before you physically install these locks, place them in the location you intend to have them. Then go through the tech setup first. Make sure these are working with your wi-fi router, the app, etc, all the digital stuff, before you do the physical install. That way you can be sure it will work. Dummy me--I just went and installed them and then ran into tech issues. But by then it was too late, they were already installed into the door. So make sure you get the tech working first and good luck.

Great lock but will not work in Australia
This is a great lock if you live in the USA. If you reside in Australia you will not be able to set up the lock unless you can access the Apple US App store. You will be unable to set up the lock using the Australian App. My husband was able to get the app from the Apple store in the USA and get the lock operational. It works well. I would recommend the lock if you are prepared to deal with the set up difficulties.

Don't buy this if you are outside canda or USA
Bought this, go to effort to install only to find out the software is region locked. Unfortunately I ordered before seeing the other review in June. The advertisement doesn't state its region locked.

USA Only. Not for international markets.
This lock requires the Yale Access app to setup via Bluetooth. Yale has restricted access to the US only. This has resulted in the lock being non-functional outside of the US. Amazon should cease selling this product internationally until this is resolved.
