The shelf life of XL Gel is many times that of dry liver sulfur and is not broken down by light or air. XL Gel is used for stainless metals such as silver, copper, bronze or metal clay. XL Gel is non-flammable and does not represent dry breathing. Not compatible with strong acids or alcohols. 59 ml container makes twelve 350 ml portions of dark patina solution. Stir before use for consistent results. 1 teaspoon XL Gel per 350 ml heated water approx. 140 degrees F / 60 degrees C for darkest patina Adjust ratio of solution to desired effect and volume of solution. XL Gel can be used in its finished form by brushing. Liver of Sulfur creates a rainbow to black oxidized patina on fine silver, sterling silver, copper bearing metals including brass and bronze.
