A Beast of a Saw โ Perfect for Firewood Business The Husqvarna 460 Rancher has truly exceeded my expectations. Itโs powerful, smooth, and incredibly reliable โ everything you want in a workhorse saw. As someone who runs a firewood business, this has become my primary saw, and itโs more than proven itself. Before writing this review, Iโve put it through its paces, processing at least six full cords of wood โ and it hasnโt skipped a beat. The performance is consistent, the cuts are clean, and it handles larger logs with ease. I swapped out the standard 24โ bar for a 28โ bar, and the added reach has made a big difference when working with oversized rounds. Whether youโre in the business or just need a serious tool for heavy-duty cutting, the 460 Rancher is a top-tier choice. I absolutely love this saw and can confidently recommend it to anyone who needs power, performance, and durability in one rugged package.

Best chainsaw ever
Best chainsaw I ever owned. Able to cut the little stuff but capable of cutting a tree over 30 inches across.

Overall a great saw
This is my 2nd 460 Rancher. After running them thru hundreds of tanks, countless hrs, prob a thousand trees, they just work. They aren't the speed demons of pro saws, but for every tree that a normal guy will encounter on his/her property it's a great saw. Keep it clean, buy a chain sharpening kit and keep the chain sharp, use the correct gas/oil mixture, read the instructions (and forum posts) if you havent used chainsaws much, and do the simple maintenance (including NOT leaving fuel in it for months at a time) and it'll last you for years. The one thing I'd suggest is to drop the 24" bar and throw a 20" bar on there -> it makes for a much more "usable" chainsaw. I've left the 24" bar on this new one, but I use a 20" bar on my old one. Maybe find or fabricate a set of larger dogs on it, but that's a personal opinion thing. I have a 2 Stihls (one smaller and one larger than the 460) and the Husky works out best for most jobs I do. Stay safe around trees and chainsaws.

Fantastic tool
This saw is powerful, reliable , easy starting, vibration free and ultra smooth to operate. I am a land owner and use chainsaws regularly. After a viscous storm a neighbor and I were bucking downed oak and firs blocking access to our properties. He was running a husky 460 rancher i another top name brand saw I had been using for a few years. I noticed he was more productive and his machine seemed much easier to operate. To make this review shorter, I had a brief run with his Husky and promptly ordered one that same day. It is absolute awesome in every way. It has reduced my fatigue, improved productivity and increased the fun factor for this olโ boy. I usually am skeptical about reviews but this is no BS. The Husqvarna 460 Rancher is the most user friendly saw ive experienced.

Just a Awesome chainsaw!
I had a pine tree (over 50 feet tall) that had to come down. This chainsaw is a beast! Also, simply fun to use; it didn't bog down at all and simply went through a maybe 2-foot-wide trunk with no problem. Highly Recommend!

Good saw but has some ticks that will be problems in no time
Was not sure if I should buy this brand or Stihl. Went with Husqy because it was suggested by a friend. On the initial start-up had to call my chainsaw guy over just to get the saw started, even though I started the saw out of the box when I received it. But when I went to cut trees sure enough was already having starting issues, which is where my hesitancy comes in when buying these gas-powered chainsaws. Not very impressed with how the chain came loose so easily. Maybe my expectation was too high, but I just felt like for the dollar amount this thing wouldn't need an on-site small engine repair man to address any issues. This thing should be rolling for 5 years before I experience difficulties. If I could do this purchase over again, I would probably go with the Stihl to be honest.

First new chainsaw
Can't go wrong with this saw, I had been in need of a solid workhorse for a while to deal with firewood (how we heat our home). My neighbor is a tree climber and always had plenty of free wood. I was trying to get by with an underpowered Poulan saw but it was time to upgrade. Grabbed this one on sale, under $500. At first I was not impressed, seemed weak and not up to the task, however after the 3rd tank I was noticing a difference and by the 6th tank it was ripping S up. Glad I purchased this saw. Be sure to break in properly and only use non-ethanol fuels, mix in small batches to keep your fuel fresh and any that is left over after the season, put in your car (the little bit of oil won't hurt) and mix a new batch. Upon research I learned Husky is faster at the top end speed over Stihl, while Stihl has a bit more bottom end grunt. I was sawing 16-20 inch logs and would rev it up, start the cut and just let the weight of the saw do the work at the high speed, was like butter. This saw is ripping so good I plan to give it a go with one of those Alaskan Mills and see how it does. If not enough I will get a 70-90cc saw for this task.
