Works just as described.

Love these bulbs. I use them in my chicken coops. If I use white heat bulbs the chickens stay up all night like naughty children at a sleepover and if I use red heat bulbs they get angry and fight with each other and also stay up all night. With these black heat bulbs they keep nice and toasty but have no trouble sleeping or being nice to each another. They last a while, I usually have to replace them as one of the birds hits the lamp when jumping up on to their sleep bar, so no fault of the bulb. I have even had one of these bulbs last a whole winter. And sometimes they blow out when used outside in the wet but that's to be expected as these are for reptiles inside. I have a Muscovy male duck who refuses to go inside so he has one of these bulbs keeping him a bit warmer in the sub zero temperatures, it only tends to blow out if the rain is driving hard sideways and it gets the lamp soaked. I would certainly recommend these over those huge watt red heat lamps which seems to blow out for no reason after a few weeks and are expensive compared. I have had a lot of comfortable birds because of these and will continue to buy.

I use this bulb during the winter months to provide extra warmth for my leopard gecko's cold hide. It runs 24/7 and seems to last about a year before burning out. When the air temp in my house is 60F, the cold hide is 70F with this bulb placed approx. 12" above the cold hide.Sometimes at night my gecko climbs up the rocks in the back of his tank to bask under this black light. He seems to enjoy it.

Lasted less than a month. I ordered two and with in the month I went through both, Don't waste your money on these.Yes they did provide a nice amount of heat for my RES but didn't last as long as they should have

Was used to provide heat for a pet leopard gecko 24/7 during the cold winter. It does not provide much warmth but kept the temperature elevated to some extent,enough to keep the reptile still in brumation (Reptiles version of hibernating). Works well to provide a constant source of heat in above freezing but cold weather.(California weather; Hot/Cold/Rainy but never any snow). Color is more of a very light black light (Violet/Purple/Blue mixed) but does not matter as the leopard gecko typically sleeps during the winter.Go with a red heat light/heat lamp if you are located in an area of below freezing weather.-I used the heat lamp bulb for roughly for one month and a half constantly on and never unplugged.-After that time frame, I have donated my two leopard Geckos to a friend as I no longer have any time to take care of them, the product served its purpose well and is worth its value in price. Good bye Mr. Gecko. (I referred to both of them as Mr. Gecko) :/

It's basically a blacklight. It keeps my eyelash crested geckos tank and a nice evevening temperature . Live plants look rusty orange/red and calcium dusted crickets slightly glow under this light. This is not that great for night time vewing, maybe if i got a higher wattage? I do however prefer this light over the infrared one only because it gives my girl more of a natural night/day cycle.

My leopard gecko likes this lamp. The lamp is mounted about 12" above the sand and produces a warm, even heat. The radiant heat it generates is gentle so i don't have to worry about overheating the enclosure. My only quibble is that these lamps don't last that long. The last one burned out after a few months.

This is our second Exo Terra Night-Glo bulb, the first one lasted about 2 years. We switch it on on cooler nights and during the colder winter days. Rosie loves the warmth. She seeks out a spot right beneath the lamp and seems to enjoy the warmth. And when I switch it off, she slowly returns to another spot or goes back into her coconut.The first bulb lasted a very long time, this one has been in use almost daily without any problem. A great product.

First time to try these and so far no issues keeps the tank at a nice 70 f at night in the cold weather it’s suiting perfectly for this time of year. Helping keep day/night cycle going well..
