The geometry is good, proper fit, smooth action, the steel welds fairly well, and the ball bearings are appropriately hard.

Always work
I've built and welded hundreds of gates and always use these style of hinges cause they are greasable and move nice. They might be overkill on some gates but when they aways work and never have problems.
