Extemely capable handheld router
It let you make cuts and parts with a handheld router that are almost impossible to make without the CNC capabilities of the Shaper Origin. Most of the videos and reviews on the web explain its capabities and there are many other resources online (some of 'em at xtra cost).

I don't feel like this is worth using for small pieces. Works well for engraving larger ones.
For larger pieces it worked all right for engraving, but for anything small (including 2x4 size if you're working with the end) it's not worth the trouble. The way it works is that you have to paste a "grid" over an image of your wood in order to work on it. There's a few problems with this. First, wood comes with lots of small imperfections in it, so getting your grid to align with the work piece ranges from a lot of work (you could probably use digital calipers to get the exact size, then calculate it) to impossible if your image isn't perfect. Second problem, it takes several tries to get a semi-accurate image of the wood to come up without any artifacts, copies or blurring because if it's a small piece, the router may wobble as you move the camera over it. Attempting to get the image from multiple angles ironically only makes it worse, increasing the number of artifacts in the image. Eventually, after several tries you can get a mostly accurate image, but don't expect perfect alignment for anything complex because you are basically doubling or tripling the number of things that can go wrong by using this image to grid system. Ironically, the workstation was well designed and I can see myself using it with my normal router in the future. But the Shaper Origin router is not working for me as anything besides an engraving machine, and the engravings are probably going to be limited to larger pieces of wood.

With a little knowledge of CAD you can make anything! This mallet came out AWESOME!
Game-Changing Tool for Woodworkers – Worth Every Penny! As a professional woodworker, I never imagined a handheld CNC router would be possible—let alone one this powerful and precise. The Shaper Origin completely blew me away. It’s incredibly easy to use, yet it delivers the kind of accuracy you'd expect from a full-size CNC setup. This isn’t just a router hooked up to a computer—it includes intuitive built-in CAD and CAM functionality that lets you go from concept to cut all in one unit. The accessories available for the Origin expand its capabilities exponentially. Whether you're laying out hardware, crafting intricate joinery, or inlaying a custom logo into a hardwood floor, this tool makes it all possible—and with stunning accuracy. The workflow is smooth, the setup is quick, and the results are top-notch. Yes, the price might seem high at first glance—but in reality, it’s a small investment for what it enables. Whether you're creating high-end client work, building a side business, or making one-of-a-kind gifts, the Origin opens up a world of opportunities. You will not be disappointed. This is truly a beautiful piece of technology that belongs in any serious woodworking shop.

Great, but paywalls??
Love it, but hate the paywall that Shaper uses for features and software upgrades. Would be nice if it had the ability for some Z axis movement to provide a bit of depth, but other than the paywalled auto-plunge, that doesn't seem to be something the shaper is capable of.

Excellent machine
This machine does an excellent job at a variety of tasks. It is easy to set up and program even if you are not a computer wizard. Would recommend.
