Love the effect this bulb gives off. I have it outside on my lamp post for the holidays, and from a distance really looks like a real flame. Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I wish there was a switch on the base to control the effect. You need to turn it off and back on to toggle between the modes. If you are up close you can really notice the individual LED's, so I am going to frost the glass on our lamp post. I'm sure that will help.

I'm building a collection of flame light bulbs and LED candles for that faux fire look without the possibility of burning my home down. This one? Meh. It has three settings - all on, slow flicker, and quick flicker - but the actual light inside looks about the same video quality as the original PacMan, complete with square pixels. It functions, but it would look best from a distance.

Not for theatrical use. The mode is changed by removing power and then turning power back on. So if you thought you'd be clever and use these to simulate say street lamps in 19th century London, you can't. A switch to change modes would have been a much smarter build.

I like the flame effect only. I bought two however one oesnt work in extreme cold weather, that is anything below 10°. It either wont come on or works very dimly.

These are by far the BEST realistic flicker light bulbs! So glad they're finally being sold on Amazon. HIGHLY recommend for an authentic flame look!

Stops flickering. You have to unscrew the bulb and screw it back in to start to work again. Sometimes several times.
