Is the Worktop Oil safe for food contact? Can I use it on a chopping board?

Yes. It's tested and certified safe for incidental food contact. It is suitable for wooden chopping boards, kitchen worktops and other surfaces that may come into contact with food. Allow the oil to cure fully (at least 24 hours) before food contact.

My worktop feels sticky after oiling. What went wrong?

Always wipe off all remaining oil with dry lint-free cloths immediately after the absorption period. Apply thin — less oil absorbs better and cures properly. If sticky, lightly reapply a small amount to soften, then remove thoroughly.

How many coats do I need?

One coat is sufficient for most surfaces. For heavily dried or thirsty wood, a 2-nd coat can be applied after the first has fully absorbed and the excess has been removed. Always apply thin and remove all excess — a thick coat does not cure properly.

Can I use this on a lacquered worktop?

No. Worktop Oil is for untreated, oiled, or sanded bare wood only. It will not penetrate a lacquered or varnished surface. If your worktop is lacquered, it needs to be sanded back to bare wood before oiling.

What is the difference between Worktop Oil Natural and Worktop Oil White?

Natural variant preserves the natural wood tone with no colour change. The white variant gives the wood a softer, lighter tone. Both are food-safe. If you are unsure, test on a hidden area first — the effect varies by wood species and grain.
