Q: The plate on our tap is very thin metal that flexes and won't hold tight. How thick/strong is this horseshoe plate?

The plate will not flex. It is thick enough for the amount of pressure you need.

Q: What length and diameter is the bolt please

Apologies don't know as the bolt is now fitted but it matched exactly the prior one that had been fitted with the taps. It's likely you will need a tube like tap spanner to properly tighten the bolts though as I found it difficult to get other spanners into place.

easy to fit & good quality.

easy to fit & good quality.seems better then the one that was originally fitted, seems almost double the thickness and much heavier in weight so hopefully should last well.

replaced rusted existing fittings - unfortunately rod too short so had to use old one reversed, but new plate and seal did the trick and stopped leak. The O ring couldn't be used.

Kitchen sink singular tap securing kit

Product was fine. These is no size measurement for this fitting so I believed it to be a standard industry fitting( one size fits all?) The kit was around 8 to 10 mm to small so require a larger one. There is no larger one to pick so be causeous when ordering. Hence only 3 stars

Did the job. Like most Tap fixings a bit fiddly. You need a long reach socket or similar and be a bit of a contortionist.
