Looks better than a jar.
This is actually a very pretty vase, but the top section where you set the seed is really very small. A normal sized avocado seed is not going to sit as deep as the one in the picture, so I did end up adding water almost every day just to keep the bottom wet.

Seed doesn't fit
What a great idea - no more toothpicks! So I ordered 3 of them. They don't work. The opening is too small so the bottom of the seed doesn't touch the water unless you fill it to the brim but then it runs over and you have to keep adding water almost daily as it evaporates and doesn't touch the seed. Bad design...

Best by far!
Love the design! Hole at top is perfect size for seed and to keep the water from evaporating. The body is great. You can see root as it grows!! I recommend highly. I bought several other kinds and disappointed
